The International Wrestling Cartel describes itself as Western-Pennsylvania’s largest and most exciting wrestling promotion for over 20 Years. Using a healthy dose of homegrown talent such as Elias Samson, DJ Z, Britt Baker, and Wardlow, and a mix of guest superstars such as Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Jerry Lawler, Sgt. Slaughter, Shane Douglas, Raven, The Sandman, and more, IWC has grown to become one of the most successful indy promotions today.
The Court Time Sports Center is a multi-purpose sports complex which includes volleyball, basketball and soccer and hosts auxiliary events like birthday parties, boxing, and pro wrestling shows. It is tucked away in the borough of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, on the east bank of the Monongahela River.
The doors opened at 6:00pm, so I arrived at 5:45pm to look around. Even though there was a line of at least fifty people waiting to get in when I arrived, I was able to find a parking spot up next to the building. I got in line and immediately sparked up a conversation with a local fan who also parked next to the building. He told me that he regularly attends IWC shows, as well as shows by two other local promotions (2PW and KSWA), and that IWC is his favorite.
IWC promotor Justin Plummer was at the door scanning tickets from fans’ cell phones. Next to him was a table set up for will call and day of event ticket sales. Just past that table on the left is the concession stand which is easier to access once everyone is inside and the will call table is removed from the entrance area.
Inside the venue, many IWC wrestlers set up tables to sell their merchandise and take photos with the fans. When I first got there, many were still setting up their tables, so I decided to find a seat first. Around the ring, three to six rows of general admission and VIP ringside seats were available. Behind them, on two sides of the ring, were sections of general admission bleacher seating. Regardless of where you sit, there is no bad seat in the house. I decided to sit on the same side as the hard camera, right next to the area where the wrestlers made their entrances.

Before the event started, I took a moment to check out the merchandise tables. There was a general merchandise table near the main lobby door which had various items for sale, such as: DVDs, action figures, luchador masks, and more. To the left of that table were two tables for the feature stars of the evening, the MK Twins and Henry O. Godwinn. Continuing around the perimeter of the room to the left were merch tables for IWC stars such as: The Mane Event, Bulk Nasty, Blonde Force Trauma, Katie Arquette, Ashley D’Amboise, Money Shot and more. I stopped and bought a shirt from Katie Arquette. She and Ashley D’Amboise assured me that I would not be disappointed in my first IWC show.
As the show started, Justin Plummer announced that formed IWC owner, Chuck Roberts, would be the special guest ring announcer for the evening. Mr. Roberts got on the mic with a classic ring announcer’s voice and told the crowd to watch the short intro video, then make a ton of noise as the broadcast began.
MATCH #1
THE MANE EVENT vs. MR. CRUMMELS & SONNY DEFARGE

Sonny Defarge and Mr. Crummels entered first to a smattering of boos, the level of which increased when they instructed Chuck Roberts to introduce them as the “TRUE Main Event.” Moments later, the place erupted when “All-Star” Ganon Jones, Jr. and “All Pro” Duke Davis hit the ring. These guys, known as The Mane Event, as two very large, strong, and athletic performers who dwarfed their smaller foes.
The action started fast and spilled onto the outside of the ring before settling down back inside. Crummels and Defarge got in a surprising amount of offense on The Mane Event in the opening minutes of the contest. As expected, though, The Mane Event made their comeback in spectacular fashion. At one point, Mr. Crummels tried to stall the comeback by getting into a Ric Flair-style chopping contest with one member of The Mane Event. As you can imagine, this did not end well for Mr. Crummels.
WINNERS: THE MANE EVENT
MATCH #2
PHILLY MARINO EXPERIENCE vs. MONEY SHOT (c)
IWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Philly Collins and Marino Tenaglia are the party-time tag team of IWC it seems. The moment their music hit, these two guys danced and grooved their way to the ring to Sussudio by Phil Collins. They even tried to get ring announcer Chuck Roberts to dance with them as the fans clapped and cheered. The party ended quickly, though, as the tag team champions, Elijah Dean and Zach Nystrom showed up, accompanied by Anthony Young and The Dime Piece.
Philly and Marino took it to the champs early in the match and it appeared Money Shot’s confidence was shaken. At one point, Elijah Dean attempted to avoid an attack by using The Dime Piece as a shield. Money shot regained their composure and took control of the match with smart tag team wrestling. They isolated their opponent in the corner, made frequent tags, and took advantage by cheating every time the referee was distracted. In the end, Money Shot hit double spinning forearms to put away Philly Marino and retain their titles.
WINNER: MONEY SHOT
MATCH #3
BULK NASTY vs. JAYCE KARR

The independent wrestling scene is often talked about as the home of smaller wrestlers. IWC must have missed that memo. This show was a parade of huge, strong, athletic big men. The best example was Bulk Nasty. A wrestler with a more fitting name I have yet to encounter. When Bulk Nasty hit the ring for his match with “Wild Thing” Jayce Karr, everyone in attendance knew what was coming. The only question was how long it would take.
The crowd immediately started chanting “You’re gonna die! You’re gonna die” as Jayce Karr tried using his quickness to his advantage early in the match. Soon, though, Bulk Nasty had had enough. He removed both straps on his singlet to a huge cheer from the crowd. He hit one powerbomb, then held up two fingers. He hit a second power bomb, then held up three fingers. One more powerbomb and Jayce Karr was done.
WINNER: BULK NASTY
MATCH #4
BILL COLLIER (c) vs. ANTHONY YOUNG
SUPER INDY TITLE

“Big Time’ Bill Collier is another large athlete in the mold of a W. Morrissey. He entered the ring as the Super Indy title holder for his title defense against Anthony Young, who was accompanied to the ring by Money Shot and The Dime Piece. At times, this match looked like a four-on-one as Money Shot and The Dime Piece did everything in their power to help Anthony Young win the belt from his much larger opponent.
Bill Collier hit a huge lariat off the ropes to turn the tide in his favor, but Money Shot passed a foreign object into the ring. Anthony Young hit Collier in the leg with the object, but it was not enough to keep Collier down. At the end, Collier missed a lariat, but hit Young with a huge spear as he came back off the ropes. Collier hit his finisher, got the pin, and was announced as the second entrant in the upcoming Super Indy Tournament.
Before the match, ring announcer Chuck Roberts did a cool thing. He brought the Super Indy title belt out to a young fan sitting in the front row and let her hold it for safe keeping during the match. This may seem like a small thing, but it was probably the highlight of the night for that young fan.
WINNER: “BIG TIME” BILL COLLIER
MATCH #5
THE GAMBINOS vs. HARDCORE HAMMER TIME
GAMBINO STREET FIGHT

This match was hyped up in pre-show segments that played on the big screen prior to the event. So, everyone in the building was ready when Chuck Roberts announced that it was time for the Gambino Street Fight. Marshall and Mickey Gambino hit the ring first with all sorts of weapons in a trash can, along with at least one street sign. Jami Jameson and Hardcore Hooven entered next dressed for a brawl.
This match was frenetic energy and hardcore action from the moment the bell rang. The crowd chanted “Gam-bi-nos, Gam-bi-nos” as the action got under way. The action quickly spilled outside of the ring where Jameson grabbed a guitar. He missed Marshall and hit the ring post instead, shattering the instrument. When the participants looked under the ring for more weapons, they found golf clubs, chairs, and an ironing board.
Soon the participants were brawling in the crowd. At one point, Marshall Marino hit a spear on Hardcore Hooven off the bleachers and through a table. I was lucky enough to capture that moment on video which I will post to Instagram and Facebook. Once back in the ring. Hardcore Hammer Time took control. Hardcore Hooven handcuffed Marshall to the ring ropes. Jameson and Hooven each grabbed a chair and hit an Edge and Christian-style Con-Chair-To on Mickey Gambino standing upright. When Gambino hit the mat, Jameson put a chair under his head and performed the more traditional Con-Chair-To on Mickey.
WINNERS: HARDCORE HAMMER TIME
MATCH #6
PAXTON CALLOWAY vs. BROTHERLY LOVE & DIOR CASTRO
3-ON-1 HANDICAP MATCH

After a brief intermission, Brotherly Love, Kliff Klepto and Ricky Dawkins, came to the ring with Dior Castro. Ricky Dawkins told the crowd that Dior Castro is the picture-perfect athlete and, together, they would beat down the 7’1” monster. Enter Paxton Calloway. He is every bit the monster Brotherly Love described. The match consisted of Calloway throwing Klepto, Dawkins and Castro around like rag dolls for several minutes. In the end, Calloway piled the three men on top of one another, put one foot on top of them for the pin and the easy victory. Security came into the ring to keep Calloway from killing these three guys afterward, but they all backed off with a menacing look from Calloway.
WINNER: PAXTON CALLOWAY
MATCH #7
DEREK DILLENGER & CHASE GOLD vs. HENRY O. GODWINN & COLE KARTER
FEATURE MATCH

Before the match, a video package played with a promo from Derek Dillenger on Henry O. Godwinn. Soon after, Dillenger and Chase Gold made their way to the ring, accompanied by Ella Shae. The familiar sound of “Don’t Go Messin’ with a County Boy” filled the venue as Henry O. Godwinn appeared with his mystery opponent Cole Karter, another crowd favorite.
As the match started, the fan took turns chanting “Cleveland sucks” at Derek Dillenger and “Chase Gold stinks” at Mr. Gold. Karter was in the ring most of the time for his team and took a Ricky Morton style beating for several minutes before making the hot tag to Godwinn who cleared house. Karter found himself in trouble again at the end of the match, but Godwinn made the save and broke up the pin. Godwinn grabbed Chase Gold in what looked like a Scorpion Death Drop and got the pin for the good guys. After the match, Godwinn poured slop on an unsuspecting Chase Gold to the delight of the crowd.
WINNERS: HENRY O. GODWINN & COLE KARTER
MATCH #8
EDDIE KNOXXX vs. JACK POLLACK

R.C. Dupree escorted another huge bruiser to the ring in Eddie Knox. His opponent for the evening was Jack Pollock who seemed to have a long-standing issue with Dupree. Eddie Knox seemed to be making easy work of Pollock for most of the match. There was a glimmer of hope when R.C. Dupree grabbed Pollock in a Full Nelson for Knox, but Pollock moved out of the way as Knox attempted the spear.
Dupree regained his composure and managed to hit Pollock in the head with his cane. This was followed by a huge lariat from Knox, a Rock Bottom, and the pin. After the match, Pollock attempted to get up onto his feet, but Dupree ran back into the ring to continue the beat down. Dupree got on the microphone and said that Chapter 3 of this saga happens next month at IWC Super Indy.
WINNER: EDDIE KNOXXX
VIDEO PACKAGE
Three video packages about the upcoming Super Indy event on October 16 were shown between matches. The first announced that IMPACT Wrestling’s Jake Something will be coming to the event. The second package showed MLW’s Alexander Hammerstone who announced that he will be entering the Super Indy Tournament. Finally, Anthony Greene announced that, not only will he be at Super Indy, but this time, he’s winning the strap. Stay tuned.
MATCH #9
BLONDE FORCE TRAUMA vs. KATIE ARQUETTE & ASHLEY D’AMBOISE

Heather Monroe and Ray Lyn, known as Blonde Force Trauma, who I recognized from earlier in the night when they grabbed me and asked me for my help taking a photo with a fan, entered the ring first for the only women’s match on the card at Unbreakable. Their opponents were IWC Women’s Champion Katie Arquette and Ashley D’Amboise. From the crowd reactions, it was hard to tell which team was the fan favorites.
Blonde Force Trauma took control early with great teamwork and quick tags to keep the advantage over Ashley D’Amboise. The Blondes cut off a near hot tag from D’Amboise to Arquette but were unable to prevent it a second time. Arquette cleared house with a double head butt which left Monroe and Ray Lyn in opposite corners exhausted. Arquette went coast-to-coast with several alternating shots to Ray Lyn and Monroe. After a free-for-all in the ring, Katie Arquette hit a Falcon Arrow for the victory.
WINNERS: ASHLEY D’AMBOISE & KATIE ARQUETTE
MATCH #10
ANDREW PALACE (c) vs. SPENCER SLADE vs. BULK NASTY
IWC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

This match was advertised as a one-on-one match between IWC World Champion, Andrew Palace and Spencer Slade. However, after the two combatants made their way to the ring, a siren sounded, and the Reset Button appeared on the screen before Bulk Nasty appeared again to another huge ovation from the crowd. The ring announcer told everyone that Bulk Nasty had activated the Reset Button and made this championship match a triple threat match.
Palace and Slade realized quickly that they needed to team up to take down the big Bulk Nasty. They double teamed Nasty with stomps and kicks. They even hit a double suplex on Bulk. Slade channeled Kurt Angle several times in the match. He had Nasty in an Ankle Lock on two separate occasions and even hit an Angle Slam on Bulk Nasty. Andrew Palace broke up a pin attempt by Bulk on Slade with a flying headbutt off the top rope. Palace hit three Curb Stomps on Nasty, called him a b—-, then hit a fourth stomp.
This, however, was Bulk Nasty’s night. Andrew Palace attempted to jump off the top rope, but Nasty caught him mid-air in Muscle Buster position, turned it into a full suplex, held Palace in the air, and then dropped him down to the mat. At one point, Bulk picked up both of his opponents at the same time for an overhead, fall away slam. After breaking up a dirty pin by Slade on Palace, Bulk Nasty hits Slade with a vicious Power Bomb and we have a NEW IWC WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION in Bulk Nasty.
After the match, Bulk got on the microphone and exclaimed that he is never ever losing this title. He said he needed to make Justin Plummer proud and, like it or not, he’s the face of the promotion now.
WINNER AND NEW IWC WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: BULK NASTY
MATCH #11
CHRIS ADONIS (c) vs. TITO ORIC
NWA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

As the night wore on, I was worried that Chris Adonis would not make it to the event. Before the world title match, however, Chuck Roberts announced that the Adonis/Oric match would go on last as the co-main event and would be followed by a post-show meet and greet with Adonis in the back corner of the venue.
Tito Oric came to the ring, escorted by the Lebanon Don, Joey Moses. The crowd chanted “Tito, Tito, Tito” as the Lebanon Don made a proposition to Chris Adonis. Moses requested a $100,000 Master Lock Challenge where Adonis would get $100,000 if Tito could not break the Master Lock. Adonis said that was one hundred times the money he was making that night and accepted. However, Oric broke the hold with help from Moses and hit Adonis with a low blow as the bell rang to start the match. After a hard Samoan drop, Tito put Adonis in the Camel Clutch. Adonis tried to reach the ropes but couldn’t as the Lebanon Don kept pulling them out of Adonis’ reach. Soon after, Adonis escaped, rolled up Tito, and scored a sudden victory.
WINNER: CHRIS ADONIS
I really enjoyed this show from start to finish. In fact, the whole experience was a blast. The energy in the Court Time Sports Center is infectious. The card contained a diverse group of matches to keep most fans happy. The wrestlers themselves, for the most part, were happy to interact with fans, take photos, and sign autographs. Everything from the merchandise to the concessions were reasonably priced, making it an affordable night for families and hardcore wrestling fans alike.
At the very end of the show, Chuck Roberts announced something to the crowd about an after party at the usual hot spot in town. I had to head back to Maryland, or I would have asked more about the post-show gathering. Have any of you IWC fans been to this after-party? I want to go next time!
