World Domination Wrestling Alliance was founded in 2016 by former pro wrestler, Andres Suarez. In his day, Mr. Suarez was known as the Latin Tornado. He began his career in 1992 and has wrestled for such promotions as Mason-Dixon Wrestling (MDW) and National Wrestling League (NWL), as well as House of Pain Wrestling Federation (HoPWF), where he was a three-time HoPWF Heavyweight Champion.
In an interview with The Journal, Mr. Suarez stated that the WDWA “believes in running a show that not only appeals to wrestling fans, but will make anyone that has not seen a show a new fan. We are family run and strive to make every experience so entertaining. One thing our fans love about our shows is that they never know what will happen at a WDWA event. We love surprising the fans.” (See full story here).
The venue for this event, Kustom Kreationz, is a family owned screen printing and custom apparel shop located on Winchester Avenue in Martinsburg, West Virginia. It began as a home business for WDWA promoter Andres Suarez, but moved into its current retail space in the Martinsburg Shopping Plaza in 2019. It continues to support the World Domination Wrestling Alliance as its sole manufacturer of WDWA merchandise. Kustom Kreationz offers screen printing, heat transfer vinyl/foils, digital printing and sublimation on products such as window decals, personalized license plates, mugs, water bottles, tote bags and more.
I arrived at the Martinsburg Shopping Plaza about an hour before bell time to take a look around. There was a line of people already waiting outside the Kustom Kreationz entrance. There were also two ladies sitting in the parking lot who looked to be tailgating before the event began. I immediately knew this crowd was going to be fun.
I reached out to the promotion by Facebook message to inquire about tickets. The promotion responded within just a few minutes. The person explained that they would take my name and reserve a ticket for which I could pay at the door. Upon my arrival at the venue, I provided my information and was directed to a front row seat with my name on it.
On the way to ringside, I noticed four merchandise tables set out. At that time, though, only one was set up. The woman was selling Funko Pops and other wrestling figures. She stated that the proceeds from all sales went to a charity to help people in Haiti.

Before the show got started, The Latin Tornado and referee Richie White entered the ring to lead the crowd in a prayer of thanks. The crowd then stood for the national anthem. The Latin Tornado took to the microphone one last time before the event began to let the fans know that Lucha Underground star Ricky Reyes will be at the next WDWA event, October 9, 2021 at Kustom Kreationz.
As ring announcer Luke McCarren entered the ring to announce the first match, some wild west music hit and Preston Myers stormed out from behind the curtain riding a hobby horse, hooting and hollering as he made his way around ringside, then back into the back without explanation.
MATCH #1
ISHMAN MARTINEZ vs. DANCE DANCE LUCHA LIBRE

Ishman Martinez appeared first with the flag of the Dominican Republic which prompted chants of “USA, USA, USA” almost immediately. Martinez was accompanied to the ring by Groper Cleavage, who spent much of the match getting into it with the fans seated at ringside.
Dance Dance Lucha Libre entered next with an entrance like no other. He got the crowd clapping and cheering as he danced his way from the back, around the ring, then into the ring. He continued to dance as the referee checked his arms and legs for foreign objects prior to the match.
Dance Dance Lucha Libre got in some quick offense as the match started, which led Martinez to roll outside of the ring to regain his composure. When Martinez went outside a second time, Dance Dance Lucha Libre used a springboard plancha to take down Martinez, then threw him back in the ring. Dance Dance Lucha Libre trapped Martinez in the corner and started doing the dance known as the Charleston with each forward kick pummeling Martinez.
The bigger, stronger Martinez would take control with a splash and a senton in the corner. While talking smack to the crowd, Martinez continued his assault on Dance Dance Lucha Libre with a nasty spine buster followed by a single leg crab. On the mat, Dance Dance Lucha Libre used what little strength he had left to kick the mat in a signal for fans to start clapping some encouragement.
The motivation worked. Dance Dance Lucha Libre was able to get his foot to the ropes, forcing the referee to break the hold. The crowd came to life as Dance Dance Lucha Libre rose to his feet and made his comeback in spectacular fashion. A Tornado DDT followed by a 450 splash from the top rope was too much for Ishman Martinez.
WINNER: DANCE DANCE LUCHA LIBRE
MATCH #2
BO ROSS vs. “THE SOUNDCLOUD SENSATION” ANTON NATHAN

With a menacing look, and a huge wrench, Bo Ross entered the ring accompanied by Preston Myers. He was followed by The Soundcloud Sensation Anton Nathan who is clearly a crowd favorite. Nathan spent much of the match getting the crowd to call back his catch phrase of approval, “Yee,” as well as telling the crowd, “You already know!!”
The match got started with an exchange of headlocks, followed by a hurricanrana by Nathan which sent Ross out of the ring for a consult with Preston Myers. Once back in the ring, Bo Ross took control with the help of outside interference by Myers. With the referee being distracted by Ross in one corner, Preston Myers reached in an choked Nathan with the ropes. Later, Ross caught Nathan in an abdominal stretch. While holding the stretch, Ross began to elbow the midsection of Nathan. At the same time, Ross reached for Myers’ hand outside the ring for some illegal extra leverage on the hold.
The Soundcloud Sensation escaped the hold and made a comeback. He went for the pinfall, but Myers jumped up on the apron again to distract the referee from making the count. While still distracting the referee, Myers threw the massive wrench into the ring for Ross. However, Anton Nathan grabbed the wrench and hit Ross in the midsection just before the referee turned back around and counted the pin.
WINNER: “THE SOUNDCLOUD SENSATION” ANTON NATHAN
MATCH #3
ERIK C. JONES vs. THE FREAK

Before this match could start, Preston Myers music hit once more. Like before, he galloped to the ringside area on his hobby horse. This time however, instead of going to the back, Myers landed at the commentary table and took the place of The Latin Tornado and joined Doug Rafferty on commentary for this match.
Erik C. Jones came to the ring with one of the largest men I’ve ever seen live (until an hour later…), Mike Strong. Jones’ opponent for the evening was The Freak. Dance Dance Lucha Libre had a unique entrance, but The Freak’s entrance was next level crazy. Though his verbal skills were on par with Chikara’s Delirious, his frenetic energy took over the room as he gyrated, stomped, and clapped his way to the ring.
The Freak took the microphone immediately from Ring Announcer Luke McCarren and told the crowd that Erik C. Jones looks like Cookie Monster. This, of course, prompted the crowd to start chanting “COOKIE, COOKIE, COOKIE.” Erik C. Jones grabbed the microphone and stated that he demands the respect he deserves and ordered the crowd to stop chanting “Cookie.”
The match finally started with an attempted lock up which The Freak dodged as he smacked Jones on the backside. The Freak then proudly proclaimed “I just smacked your butt!!” The Freak continued to play games in an attempt to frustrate Erik C. Jones, but could not hold on forever. Mike Strong provided a distraction just long enough for Jones to roll up The Freak for the quick pin.
WINNER: ERIK C. JONES
MATCH #4
CHRISTOPHER ANDINO vs. “WILDMAN” ROBBIE PAIGE (c)
WDWA LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

The debuting Christopher Andino and his manager made their way to the ring for this first title match of the evening against Wildman Robbie Paige. The Wildman is obviously a crowd favorite judging by the crowd reaction and the amount of t-shirts in the crowd with his name on them.
Andino jumped on Robbie Paige early and continued to attack but was thwarted by a jump kick off the middle rope by The Wildman. Andino took to the outside of the ring to consult with his manager, but refused to come back into the ring. Andino would roll in and out of the ring to reset the referee’s count several times as the fans chanted “Get in the ring!!” Eventually, Robbie Paige rolled outside and chased Andino around the ring. As Paige attempted to follow his opponent back into the ring, Andino’s manager grabbed Paige’s leg just long enough for Andino to capitalize.
This match seemed to be a handicap match, as Andino continually distracted the referee so his manager could choke Robbie Paige with the ropes. Andino hit a nasty power bomb on the mat, before backing Paige into the corner for some hard chops. Paige would turn the tables, switch places with Andino, then hit four chops that echoed through the venue. As the match ended, Paige hit Andino with what looked like a Step Up Enziguri for the pin.
WINNER: “WILDMAN” ROBBIE PAIGE
INTERMISSION

During the twenty minute intermission, I had an opportunity to walk around the now-populated merchandise table area. “Wildman” Robbie Paige had a crowd around him for the entire break. So, I never got to see the merchandise he had available.
I did get to speak with “The Miasma” Zakk Ramses at his merchandise table. He told me that he loves working for this promotion, though he has only done it a few times. He echoed my own personal feelings when he told me, “It’s a great time to be in the wrestling business.” He was very approachable and courteous. I purchased a signed 8×10 from Mr. Ramses before heading back to my seat.
At ringside, “The Soundcloud Sensation” Anton Nathan had set up shirts for sale and was talking with fans. I walked over to buy a t-shirt and talked to Anton for a few minutes. The Soundcloud Sensation is not just a nickname, Anton Nathan is an aspiring hip-hop/rap artist who has an album coming out soon. Mr. Nathan tapped my phone with his Tappy Tech Card which shared all of his social media accounts to my phone. From there, I checked out the Soundcloud page which includes songs such as “Motorbike Mike” and “Cheap Heat.”
As the intermission came to a close, The Freak walked by my seat and growled out something incoherently. I do not know what I did or said in response, but The Freak seemed to approve as he smiled and walked to the back.
Before the next match could start, The Latin Tornado took to the ring and called out his commentary partner, Doug Rafferty. Mr. Rafferty looked less than pleased to be summoned to the ring, as if he knew what was coming. The Latin Tornado put a sleeper on Doug to the delight of the crowd. With Rafferty sleeping on the mat, The Latin Tornado grabbed both of Rafferty’s legs and looked to the fans for approval before landing a hard kick to the crotch.
MATCH #5
KAYLIN PATRICK & MIKE STRONG vs. BIG COUNTRY & HOBBO HARRY

“Mr. Political” Kaylin Patrick came to the ring with a small megaphone with which he taunted the crowd. Behind him was tag team partner Mike Strong who let his physical appearance do the talking. They were accompanied to the ring by Erik C. Jones. Their opponents were the odd couple team of Big Country and Hobbo Harry. To my amazement, Big Country was even bigger than Mike Strong. The much smaller Hobbo Harry followed behind Country in his tattered jeans, socks with holes, and change cup.
The match started with the two monsters in the ring attempting to gain an advantage. Country and Strong exchanged headlocks and then shoulder tackles, with neither man being able to knock the other off his feet. A whip into the ropes followed by a big boot from Big Country finally toppled Strong as the fans chanted for Hobbo Harry.
As the two smaller wrestlers tagged into the match, Hobbo Harry tried to get Kaylin Patrick, and the referee, to smell his armpits. Hobbo gained an advantage early, but seemed confused as he went for the pin on Patrick. Big Country held up three fingers and slowly explained that he needed a one, two, three in order to win.
Quickly, the bad guys took advantage. They double teamed Harry in the corner. At one point, Mike Strong trapped Harry and put his massive boot on the Hobbo’s throat. Patrick and Strong continued to use good teamwork and cut off the ring to prevent Harry from reaching his corner.
Soon, though, Hobbo Harry escaped and made the hot tag to Big Country who decimated Kaylin Patrick. Then Preston Myers’ music hit once more. The distracted Big Country took off after Myers, leaving Hobbo Harry in the ring along. Patrick and Strong double teamed Harry, then Strong drove Harry into the mat with a powerslam.
WINNERS: KAYLIN PATRICK & MIKE STRONG
MATCH #6
ROC RICHARDS vs. “THE MIASMA” ZAKK RAMSES

This match started with a little taste of home as Roc Richards was announced as hailing from my home town, Leonardtown, Maryland. He scowled all the way to the ring and awaited his opponent, “The Miasma” Zakk Ramses. Zakk Ramses was even taller and longer than Richards, who is no small man.
On the first lockup, Roc Richards was able to back Zakk into the corner until the referee called for the break. Roc appeared to break cleanly, but tried a sucker punch which missed Zakk. Ramses returned fire with a nasty right hand of his own, sending Roc Richards to the outside.
Roc spent a considerable amount of time out of the ring and seemed weary about climbing back in. Ramses called out for Roc to get back in the ring several times as the crowd booed Richards. A series of hard clotheslines from Zakk and a back body drop sent Roc Richards outside the ring again, but, this time, Ramses followed.
Back inside the ring, Roc regained control and started working the arm of Zakk Ramses. At one point, Richards sent Ramses’ arm into the ring post. Zakk tried to make a comeback with a fall away slam, but his arm was too damaged to complete the move. Eventually, Ramses started a rally with more clotheslines which prompted Richards to pull a chain from his pants pocket. When Ramses picked Richards up for a power bomb, Roc hit Zakk in the face with the chain.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: “THE MIASMA” ZAKK RAMSES
MATCH #7
ISRAEL SHARIFF PHAKUR vs. “TRIPLE FEARS” KEVIN MEARS (c)
WDWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Finally, it was time for the champion versus champion main event of the evening between WDWA Television Champion Israel Shariff Phakur and WDWA World Heavyweight Champion, “Triple Fears” Kevin Mears. This match, however, was only for the World Championship.
Phakur attacked Mears before the bell rang. He hit two chops on Mears, who retaliated with two even harder ones. The combatants spilled outside the ring and battled in the merchandise table area as the referee counted. Mears took control back inside the ring. Kevin trapped Israel in the corner and the crowd counted along for nine punches to the head. Instead of hitting a tenth punch, Mears bent down and bit Phakur on the head for a huge pop.
Israel gained an advantage later in the match and tried to work the leg of the world champion as the crowd taunted Phakur with chants of “USA, USA, USA.” Phakur tried to walk the ropes, but Kevin Mears caught him, shook the ropes, and caused Israel to come down with the ropes between his legs. This prompted Mears to grab the top rope, with Phakur still in a precarious position, and shook it up and down causing great pain to the television champion.
After Mears held Israel in a suplex for several seconds and drove him hard into the mat, Phakur bumped the referee and knocked her out. With no one watching, Israel Phakur hit Kevin Mears with a low blow as new referee Billy Bowers entered the ring to count to three and declare a new world champion. However, original referee Danika Myers got back up after the match, conferred with Bowers, and declared Israel Shariff Phakur was disqualified for the ref bump.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: “TRIPLE FEARS” KEVIN MEARS
I really enjoyed my evening at World Domination Wrestling Alliance. It was very obvious from the moment I arrived that most of these fans are regular attendees of the events. There was an air of familiarity between the performers and the crowd that you do not see too often. As a result, the crowd of about 100 people were all invested in the action in the ring and the outcome of the matches.
The Latin Tornado, Andres Suarez, stated that he wants WDWA to be a family-friendly atmosphere and it was certainly that. The kids and adults in the crowd seemed excited for a night of fun with very little cursing, blood, or adult themes. I would love to get back to this promotion in the future. Not only did I have a great time, but driving through the hills of West Virginia in the fall makes for beautiful sight-seeing.
