Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 79 debuted tonight in YouTube. The feature match was pre-taped at CCW Secret Treasure at the Mid-Florida Events Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 12, 2022. Here is what happened:
JACOB FATU vs. GANGREL
The action spilled outside the ring early. Gangrel seemed to be in control as he pummeled Jacob Fatu around all sides of the ringside floor. Inside the ring, however, Fatu took control. After a series of knife edge chops from Gangrel, Fatu leveled the legend with just one in return and nearly forced Gangrel to pass out with a nerve hold. Somehow, Gangrel avoided the dreaded third arm drop and seemed poised to rally.
Gangrel avoided a Fatu moonsault, connected with a belly to belly suplex and a bulldog. Gangrel blocked Fatu’s superkick but could not avoid the headbutt that followed…or so many more after that. The referee tried to pull Fatu off of Gangrel. Fatu shoved the referee and went back to headbutting Gangrel. The ref tried again. Fatu shoved him again. Fatu was disqualified.
Fatu leveled everyone from the locker room who tried to intervene on Gangrel’s behalf. When the ring was cleared of all but Fatu and Gangrel, The Samoan Werewolf charged. Gangrel pulled down the ropes and sent Fatu out onto the floor. Gangrel took the microphone and challenged Fatu to a return match on April 22. No disqualification, no rules.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: GANGREL
“Alive” airs on YouTube on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM EDT. Next week, episode 80 features Kilynn King vs. Marina Tucker. This was the first time I have seen CCW, but I really enjoyed it. I may make this a weekly thing. Stay tuned!!
