TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 80

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 80 debuted tonight on YouTube. Both matches were pre-taped at CCW Secret Treasure at the Mid-Florida Events Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 12, 2022. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
THE SOUTH AMERICAN ALLIANCE (c) vs. KONA KLUTCH & BRUCE WORLEY
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The South American Alliance puts away Bruce Worley to retain

Vinicious of South American Alliance started this match with Kona Klutch, but quickly tagged out to Ariel Levy. Levy came in like a house of fire, hitting a springboard moonsault and quickly going for a pin. Frustrated, Bruce Worley tagged himself in and leveled both Vinicious and Ariel Levy.

With Vinicious out of the ring, Worley applied an arm bar to Levy while hitting him in the shoulder. Levy attempted to escape, but Worley caught him in a power bomb. Levy escaped from that, as well, but Worley was not finished. As Levy approached, Worley hit a sit-out powerbomb.

Levy would crawl through the legs of Worley to finally make the hot tag to Vinicious who destroyed Worley with a body block, which brought all four men into the ring. Ariel Levy hit a double knee facebreaker to Kona Klutch and both men rolled out of the ring. At the same time, Vinicious hit his shoulder breaker finisher and the champs retained.

WINNERS: THE SOUTH AMERICAN ALLIANCE

KILYNN KING (c) vs. MARINA TUCKER
CCW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Vicious boot by Kilynn King to Marina Tucker

Before this match started, each of the competitors cut a promo on the other. Marina Tucker was out first. She explained that Kilynn King’s last win against Tucker was a fluke. King thinks she’s special, but Tucker explained that she was CCW champion for two full years. King said a knockout and a pin is not a fluke. King did not appreciate Tucker getting in her business and after Tucker loses, she will go to the back of the line.

Tucker sucker punched the champion as the bell rang and then choked King until the referee counted to four and a half. After a quick, unsuccessful roll up, Tucker connected with an elbow and attempted another pin with her feet on the ropes. When that did not work, Tucker raked the back of Kilynn King.

King fought back with several hard knee strikes to Tucker. Marina tried to counter with a big boot but missed. King countered with a knee to the side of Tucker’s head which sent Marina outside the ring to recoup. King had other plans, however. She flew out of the ring with a baseball slide kick that dropped the challenger. King got cocky, though, and went for a second baseball slide. This time, Tucker was ready. She pulled open the ring skirt and trapped the champion inside. From there, Tucker slammed King’s head into the ring post and we went to commercial.

Marina Tucker meteora from behind

When the action resumed, Tucker tried to pull King inside the ring by her hair, but King managed to counter with a punch to slow the challenger. King pulled Marina by the leg, spun her body around, and left her lying on the apron with her head extending outside the ring. With Tucker in perfect position, King, from the floor, hit a running boot to the supine Marina Tucker.

Tucker somehow managed to get up and tried to run along the apron and kick King who was still on the floor. King caught Tucker’s boot and crashed her into the ring Apron with an uranage. King wrapped Tucker’s arms in the ring ropes and hit her with ten consecutive forearm shots to the chest as the crowd counted along. Marina countered by snapping King’s neck on the ropes twice, once forward and once backward.

After some smack talking and face shoves in the center of the ring, King connected with a back elbow off the ropes and went for a kick. Tucker caught her foot and used it as leverage to slam King into the mat face first. Tucker backed into the corner and hit meteora knees to the champ from behind. When the pin attempt failed, Tucker sat on King’s chest and unleashed a flurry of punches. King reversed and hit several punches of her own.

Marina Tucker rammed King’s face into the turnbuckle twice and went to the top rope. King had time to recover, got up, and landed a shot that left Tucker face down on the top turnbuckle. King charged from the other corner with a hard knee, then met Tucker on the top rope. Tucker landed a flying guillotine and made her way to the corner. There, she tried to remove the top turnbuckle cover, but the referee stopped her.

With the referee distracted trying to reattach the turnbuckle pad, Tucker went for a running boot, but missed. King countered with a round house kick and tried for a pump handle slam. Marina Tucker moved and fell into one corner. King charged from the other corner as Tucker grabbed the championship belt and nailed King in the head.

WINNER BY DQ: KILYNN KING
