TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 85

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 85 debuted tonight on YouTube. Both matches were pre-taped at CCW’s Bash at the Brew 14 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on March 5, 2022. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
ANTHONY CATENA, BIG ENGLISH & NICK TURNER vs.
DAISY KILL, OZZY KILMEISTER & REEVES PORTMAN

This six man tag contest was already in progress as the episode began. In the ring, Nick Turner was being decimated by Ozzy Kilmeister, then Daisy Kill. Turner made the tag to Anthony Catena, who hit a belly to back and a neckbreaker to Portman, then a ripcord DDT to Reeves Portman for the win.

After the match ended, Anthony Catena took the microphone and apologized to the fans. Catena said that he left CCW six months ago on bad terms. He had issues with Jackal Stevens and he was disrespectful to the fans. Catena is back in CCW with a new attitude and plans to work his ass off to climb back up the ladder to the CCW championship.

WINNERS: ANTHONY CATENA, BIG ENGLISH & NICK TURNER

MATCH #2
CHA CHA CHARLIE (c) vs. AGONY
CCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

The champion pummels Agony with chair shots

At Bash at the Brew 13, the champion lost to Agony by disqualification. As a result, this rematch was a no disqualification match. Agony had a chair in hand before the match began. Agony swung at Cha Cha Charlie and missed as the bell rang. The champion celebrated with an in-ring cha-cha after hitting a sling blade and a tombstone piledriver to the challenger.

Eric Christopher accompanied Agony to the ring for this match and spent the opening minutes plotting and planning. When the moment was right, Christopher jumped up on the apron to distract Cha Cha Charlie. When Charlie approached, Agony and Christopher duct taped his arm to the top rope. Cha Cha Charlie tried to fight off Agony with one hand, but ended up being choked by a chair leg ripped off by Agony.

Charlie mounted enough offense to have time to free himself from the duct tape, then climbed to the top rope and connected with a Mangu Crossbody. Not satisfied, Charlie climbed back up to the top rope for the Mangu splash. Incredibly, Agony kicked out at two.

Sensing the urgency, Charlie took the steel chair and pounded Agony with shot after shot. Charlie climbed to the top rope once again. This time, Beastman ran in and pushed Charlie off the top rope. As Beastman attacked the champion, Anthony Catena ran in to even the score. Catena checked on Charlie as Agony re-entered, threw Catena out of the ring and went for a slam to Charlie. The champion managed to break free and send Agony into the ropes. Anthony Catena was waiting on the outside and clocked Agony with a chair. Charlie removed Agony’s mask, then rolled him up for the pin.

Anthony Catena betrays Cha Cha Charlie

After the match, Anthony Catena hugged Cha Cha Charlie and joined him in a cha cha dance as the crowd cheered. Charlie gave Catena his signature hat as they celebrated. Catena put the hat on, raised the hand of the champion, then stunned him with a low blow. The crowd was shocked as they realized Catena’s apology earlier in the evening was nothing but a ruse.

WINNER: CHA CHA CHARLIE
