Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 92 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 16 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on May 7, 2022. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
ERA & JONNY NOVA vs. THE SOUTH AMERICAN ALLIANCE (c)
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Who would have thought, back in January 2021 at CCW Homecoming when The South American Alliance defeated The Colon Dynasty, that Ariel Levy and Vinicious would mow through the tag division in CCW and remain champions for 475 days?!? Although there has been some tension over the last few months, The South American Alliance, led by Bill Alfonso, seemed to be on the same page early in this title defense against ERA & Jonny Nova, known as Elevated Status.
The ladder match started with a four man brawl in the center of the ring, but quickly spilled outside. Ariel Levy managed to free himself from the scrum long enough to drop ERA and Jonny Nova with successive tope suicidas, then turned to his partner and said, “Vinicious! Get the ladders!!” The two men took to the entrance way and grabbed the first of many ladders to be used in this match.
After commercial, with Levy looking to climb the ladder in the center of the ring, both members of Elevated Status pulled Levy from the ladder and double team him until Vinicious re-enters and airplane spins another ladder, knocking both of the bad guys out. Vinicious turned to help his partner, but Elevated Status double dropkicked the ladder still in Vinicious’ hands, then used the ladder to clothesline Vinicious out of the ring.
Turning their attention to the now-bleeding Ariel Levy, Nova body slammed Levy onto a ladder and ERA followed with a senton. Nova grabbed a table, which appeared too wobbly to stand on its own. ERA laid Levy flat on the table and held it steady as Nova hit a top rope elbow drop that sent both men crashing through it. Soon, the action would spill back outside where Nova would stun Vinicious with a chair, lay the big man across another table, and watch as ERA destroyed Vinicious and the table with a huge top rope splash.
After the commercial break, Nova and Vinicious were battling at the top of the ladder in the center of the ring, each reaching for those championship belts, until Vinicious grabbed Nova by the head and hit a stunner off the ladder and through a table. As the fans chanted “C-C-DUB! C-C-DUB!” Bill Alfonso jumped up onto the apron, but was knocked off by Elevated Status. They threw Levy out of the ring, climbed the ladder together, and ended the eighteen month title reign of The South American Alliance.
After the match, Bill Alfonso raised the hands of the former champions, as they thanked the crowd for their support. However, when they turned from one side of the ring to the other, Levy attacked Bill Alfonso. Next, Levy hit a low blow to Vinicious followed by three chair shots to the head and an old school Con-Chair-To before finally clearing the ringside area.
After the match, I am told that Levy commented, “All I can say is I feel relieved like I took a giant weight off my back.” Apparently, that is all Levy had to say before he stormed off and slammed the door in the face of the CCW cameras.
