TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 102

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 102 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Summer Glory 2022 from the RedCon1 Gym in Nashville, Tennessee on July 31, 2022. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
BRIAN CAGE vs. JACK CARTWHEEL

Brian Cage entered this match with a perfect 7-0 record in CCW and looked to be on his way to an easy victory early against Jack Cartwheel. The acrobatic, energetic Cartwheel tried desperately to employ a stick-and-move strategy with little success. At one point, Cage caught Cartwheel mid-handspring and back suplexed him into the turnbuckles.

Once the early flurry of Jack Cartwheel had been withstood, Cage looked to slow down the match and continue to use his strength to his advantage. Cage lifted Cartwheel up for an apparent body slam, did three bicep reps with Cartwheel as the weight, and then threw Jack backward over his head like it was nothing. From there, Cage starting tossing Cartwheel’s lifeless body around the ring to the point the announcers called for the match to stop.

Jack Cartwheel with an impressive standing moonsault

However, Jack Cartwheel’s night was far from over. Cage went for another toss, but Cartwheel landed on his feet, did a splits to avoid the clothesline, and kicked Cage in the face from the mat. Cage tried to throw Cartwheel into the ropes, but amazingly Cartwheel held on to the ropes, swung over to the outside (still not touching the apron), and swung his feet through under the ropes to trip Brian Cage. Cartwheel re-entered the ring with a springboard corkscrew splash.

Cage tried to escape to the ringside area, but got hit again. This time, Cartwheel landed a back handspring twisting moonsault plancha and climbed to the top rope. Jack missed the back flip splash, but landed on his feet and hit a back handspring moonsault which nearly ended the match.

Brian Cage hits the drill claw for the win

Cartwheel made a mistake when he went back up to the top rope. Cage caught him by hitting the ropes to knock Cartwheel down, then hit an ensiguri from the mat, which sent Cartwheel down onto the apron. Cage climbed to the second rope, grabbed Cartwheel from the apron and suplexed him back into the ring with unbelievable strength.

Cage hit one buckle bomb, tried again, but got reversed into a Canadian Destroyer by Jack Cartwheel. Cage hit a fireman’s carry cutter, tried again, and got reversed into another Canadian Destroyer. Cartwheel looked to capitalize with a Death Valley Driver into a standing moonsault, but could still not secure the victory. Cartwheel missed on a top rope corkscrew shooting star press. Cage responded with a nasty lariat and the Kill Switch to finally put the pesky Jack Cartwheel away.

WINNER: BRIAN CAGE
