Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 122 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 23 “The King of the Territory” from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialieh, Florida on December 3, 2022. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
FUEGO DEL SOL vs. JAI VIDAL
It’s been nearly a year since we saw the high-flying Fuego del Sol on CCW Alive. On Episode 86, he earned a disqualification victory over Alan S2S Martinez. This time, he would be facing IMPACT Wrestling’s newest signee, Jai Vidal. Both competitors had some fun at referee Adrian Paz’ expense before the match started, but once the bell rang, they got right to business.
Vidal had the upper hand early until Fuego managed to reverse an Irish Whip into a hurricanrana. Fuego del Sol followed with a springboard cutter, then channeled his best Scotty 2 Hotty with an old school worm. Frustrated, Vidal got up and went nose to nose with Fuego. The two competitors took turns ducking each other’s clotheslines, then hit simultaneous clotheslines that left both men down.
After a brief skirmish on the outside, Fuego del Sol rolled Vidal back into the ring, Instead of waiting for Fuego, Vidal dropkicked him on the apron, then flew over the top rope onto the floor, slamming Fuego’s head into the apron. Back inside the ring, Vidal would take control with a Sharpshooter that would have ended the match if Fuego del Sol had not reached the ropes.
Fuego del Sol would turn the tide when he reversed a second Sharpshooter attempt into a reverse neck breaker. When Vidal slumped in one corner, Fuego del Sol pummeled him with shoulder tackles, running European upper cuts, and a springboard moonsault off the second rope.
Fuego hit a DDT, but the crafty Vidal caught him in a small package when he went for the pin. Both men hit their feet and began exchanging strikes, then standing switches until their momentum took both men outside the ring. As the referee’s count neared ten, Vidal and Fuego tried to prevent each other from getting back into the ring first, until they both slid back in at the very last second to avoid the double countout.
The two men went face to face in the center of the ring once more and went back to a furious exchange of punches and forearms. Vidal attempted to whip Fuego del Sol into the ropes, but del Sol countered with the tornado DDT and got the pin to remain undefeated in CCW.
WINNER: FUEGO DEL SOL
