TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 125

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 125 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 24 “The King of the Territory” from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on January 7, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
JACKAL STEVENS vs. DAISY KILL

The episode started with these two competitors already in the ring getting ready to lock up. Jackal Stevens went on offense first with a hurricanrana off of a criss-cross followed by two arm drags, a dropkick, and so so many kicks in the corner. Daisy Kill managed to turn the tide when he managed to throw Jackal Stevens face first into the turnbuckle and drop an elbow on the back of his head.

Daisy Kill spent the next several minutes in firm control, with the exception of a few futile comeback attempts by Jackal Stevens. Finally, though, Jackal managed to wriggle out of a pump handle slam attempt by Daisy and quickly hit two clotheslines, a savate kick and a rolling neck breaker that nearly ended the match.

Later, Stevens would attempt an Olympic Slam, but Daisy Kill would escape the hold and hit a back drop to set up another pump handle slam. Stevens again managed to escape and attempted another Olympic Slam. This time, Stevens perfectly executed the move and got the three count.

WINNER: JACKAL STEVENS

MATCH #2
KILYNN KING vs. DEVLYN MACABRE

Kilynn King made her return to CCW after a brief absence looking to pick up where she left off against the returning Devlyn Macabre. This was my first time seeing Macabre in a CCW ring, but I had seen her perform for SHINE and knew her to be a worthy opponent for the Mother F’n King.

Turns out I was correct, neither Macabre or King ever had firm control of the match and the momentum shifted back and forth repeatedly. This was on display mid-way through the match especially where, at one point, King tried a suplex that was blocked, Macabre tried an Irish Whip on King that was blocked, King reversed the whip and landed a knee strike, King went for another Irish Whip but Macabre countered with a drop toe hold. Macabre’s kick attempt was blocked, King lifted her into a fireman’s carry, but Macabre escaped. King finally hit a boot off the ropes, but managed only a two count.

Eventually, the veteran King finally put together a string of offense after escaping a face lock with a knee strike followed by a shotgun drop kick from the second rope. King made it to her feet first and continued with two clotheslines, a palm strike to the chest, three consecutive splashes in the corner and the Dethroner for a two count.

Still, Macabre had much more fight left in her. She managed to evade the Excalibuster and counter with a beautiful cutter out of nowhere for a two count. Later, King would withstand a chin breaker and managed to evade a charging Macabre with a sneaky roll up attempt. King charged at Macabre in the corner, but Devlyn got an elbow up and followed with a nasty tornado DDT.

The end of the match came suddenly after the Macabre DDT garnered just a two count. Macabre grabbed a headlock, but King threw her forward onto the mat. As Macabre came back, King landed a kick to the face followed by the Excalibuster and Macabre’s night was finally finished.

WINNER: KILYNN KING
