TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 126

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 126 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 24 “The King of the Territory” from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on January 7, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
DIAMANTE & RICKY MARTINEZ vs. JAMES TAPIA & RUTHIE JAY

This episode started immediately with Diamante and Ricky Martinez teaming up on the outside of the ring in a match already in progress. First-time tag partners Ruthie Jay and James Tapia got back into the ring first which gave Tapia time to attack Martinez before Martinez could fully re-enter himself.

Tapia slowed down the pace from there and took time to taunt the crowd, and Diamante, after every strike on the crawling Martinez. Tapia and Ruthie Jay made quick tags soon after, continuing the punishment by alternating boot chokes on Martinez in the corner until Tapis laid out Martinez with a reverse neck breaker.

Soon, Martinez would start a rally in the high rent district. He blocked a superplex attempt by Tapia then rung James’ bell with a double ear clap followed by a shotgun dropkick from the top rope. Both men tagged in their counterparts and Diamante struck first with a clothesline and a cazadora converted into a stunner. Ruthie Jay followed with a standing shiranui.

Ruthie Jay tagged in Tapia, who immediately found himself in one corner being double teamed by Diamante and Martinez. On the outside, Ruthie Jay evened the score by pulling Martinez off the apron, but Diamante immediately knocked Ruthie Jay off, as well. Tapia tried a sneak attack on Diamante, but Martinez slid in and caught him with a superkick, then assisted Diamante in executing the Code Red.

WINNER: DIAMANTE & RICKY MARTINEZ

MATCH #2
METO vs. ALEX CHAMBERLAIN (c)
CCW SOUTHEASTERN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

The popular Meto has been on a roll of late and looked to continue his rise in the ranks of CCW. On this night, he got an opportunity at Alex Chamberlain and the CCW Southeastern Championship. Chamberlain arrived flanked by Damian Fenrir, but Kevin Sullivan immediately banned Fenrir from ringside.

An angry Chamberlain decided to try his best to end the match early. As the bell rang, Chamberlain threw water and Meto, hit a quick lariat and made a cover. After a two count, Chamberlain hit a snap mare, and a big boot, then went for another pin. Chamberlain maintained control as the match settled in, working the neck of Meto and pummeling him with cross face blows.

After commercial, Meto looked to start a rally after getting an elbow in the face of a charging Chamberlain followed by a body slam. However, Chamberlain countered with a spinning neck breaker, then hooked Meto in an old school figure four leg lock. Meto managed to roll over and reverse the hold, but Chamberlain immediately grabbed the ropes to force a break.

Meto took a hard back suplex from Chamberlain and lied in wait as the champion climbed to the top rope. Meto evaded a Macho Man-style top rope elbow drop, then rolled out of the path of three more regular elbow drops. Quickly, the challenger hit a jump kick, modified belly-to-belly suplex, and a Samoan Drop, then signaled for the end.

Chamberlain blocked Meto’s suplex attempt and countered with a power bomb. However, when Chamberlain whipped Meto into the ropes looking for the big lariat, Meto ducked and came back off the ropes with a spear for the win and a new CCW Southeastern Champion was crowned.

WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: METO
