TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 128

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 128 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 25 “The King of the Territory” from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on February 4, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
HARLEY CAMERON vs. VALENTINA ROSSI

We joined this match already in progress with the newcomer, Harley Cameron, in firm control. Cameron taunted the fans as she held a standing boot choke in the corner, then slowed things down with a rear choke on the mat. Rossi managed to rise to her feet and back Cameron into the corner at one point. However, Cameron responded with three hard knee strikes and a side Russian leg sweep that nearly ended the match.

Finally, Rossi started a rally when she used a chin breaker to escape a second rear choke, then hit a cross body off the ropes. As Harley Cameron recoiled into the corner, Rossi hit a clothesline followed by an amazing split leg kick to the face you have to watch the video to fully appreciate.

Cameron was not finished, though. She managed to evade a charging Rossi and countered with a roll up for a near fall, followed by a dropkick for another near fall. Seemingly back in control, Cameron whipped Rossi into the ropes, but Rossi rebounded with a big boot and quickly hit a swinging neck breaker to earn the victory.

WINNER: VALENTINA ROSSI

MATCH #2
RIOS DE LA SANGRE vs. RICKY MARTINEZ

These two mat technicians spent the first several minutes of the match feeling each other out with an impressive display of chain wrestling that led to several resets. After commercial, however, Rios used a back elbow to set up a near fall, then lifted Martinez up onto the top turnbuckle. De la Sangre climbed up once, but Martinez pushed him off. Rios climbed up a second time after a leaping ensiguri, but was pushed off again. Martinez followed with a missile dropkick that left both men down.

Rios was up first, but it was Martinez who took control with a clothesline, back elbow, savate kick, and a leaping neck breaker that brought the fans to their feet. Martinez wrapped his legs around Rios’ head, did a little gyration, then slammed his head into the mat repeatedly with overwhelming crowd approval.

De la Sangre rolled out to the apron for a breather, but Martinez quickly followed. After an exchange of strikes on the apron, Martinez re-entered the ring first. Ricky prevented Rios from re-entering via slingshot with a huge kick in mid-air. As Rios fell from the apron to the floor, Martinez nailed him with a tope suicida. From there, Ricky threw Rios back into the ring, climbed to the top rope and hit a flying cross body for the win.

WINNER: RICKY MARTINEZ
