Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 129 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 25 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on February 4, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
Q.T. MARSHALL vs. CAM STEWART
Q.T. Marshall’s open challenge kicked off this episode as Cam Stewart made his way to the ring to accept. Marshall mocked Stewart on the microphone, sarcastically leading the fans in chanting Cam’s name. When the bell rang, Marshall ducked the initial lockup and taunted him some more. Marshall thwarted all of Stewart’s attempts at offense in the early going. As the fans chanted “Q.T. sucks,” Marshall tossed Stewart outside the ring and hurled him into the barrier.
Back inside the ring, Stewart attempted to mount a rally with a series of punches, followed by a dropkick and a kip up that brought the fans to their feet. They cheered as Stewart climbed the ropes and went for a missile dropkick. However, the savvy Marshall simply stepped to one side to evade Stewart, then hit the Diamond Cutter to easily put Stewart away. Immediately, Marshall jumped on the microphone and issued another open challenge.
WINNER: Q.T. MARSHALL
MATCH #2
Q.T. MARSHALL vs. ARIEL DOMINGUEZ
With Lew Spectre at his side, Marshall said he wanted the biggest and the baddest in CCW to accept his challenge this time. Certainly not the biggest competitor, Ariel Dominguez answered the call anyway. Dominguez’ size gave Marshall a bit of unearned confidence. He offered Dominguez a free shot at first, then flung Dominguez across the ring when he took it. Even more confident now, Marshall got down on one knee, intimating that it would be easier for Ariel if Marshall was on his level.
Dominguez used that knee as leverage for a step up DDT that shocked Marshall who recoiled into one corner. Marshall tried chasing Dominguez around the ring, but was no match for Ariel’s speed. After a quick reset outside the ring, however, Marshall sent Dominguez outside for a reset of his own after pop up strike to the jaw.
Back inside the ring, Marshall used the Tree of Woe to set Ariel up for repeated knee strikes to the face. As referee Amy Veronica chastised Marshall, Lew Spectre choked Dominguez from the outside. When a German release suplex resulted in just a two count, Marshall toyed with Ariel, taunting him until Ariel fought back with a series of chops, a flying forearm and a sunset flip reversal that nearly won the match.
Marshall fell into one corner and lifted a charging Ariel up and over onto the apron, then up onto the top turnbuckle. Marshall went for the top rope Diamond Cutter, but Dominguez bit his arm to knock him to the mat and connected with a flying cross body. Marshall rolled through, however, and immediately hit an urunage/flatliner but did not go for the pin. Instead, Marshall signaled for the Diamond Cutter.
Dominguez managed to reverse the cutter into a backslide, then hit a series of nasty savate kicks and a fireman’s carry driver that should’ve ended the match. Marshall, somehow kicked out a the very last second, but the fans could feel Ariel’s momentum building. Marshall could feel it, as well. As Dominguez approached, Marshall tried to roll him up for a quick pin with his foot on the ropes.
The referee easily noticed Marshall’s feet on the ropes, stopped the count, and admonished Marshall. Dominguez reversed what looked like a back body drop into an awesome Canadian Destroyer that, once again, came so close to garnering a three count. As Marshall rose to one knee, Dominguez tried to use that knee as a step once more. This time, however, Marshall reversed in mid-air and stunned everyone with the Diamond Cutter for the win.
WINNER: Q.T. MARSHALL
