Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 130 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 25 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on February 4, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
THE QROWN (c) vs. ELEVATED STATUS
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH
The Qrown, Leonis and Maximus, have had quite in run in CCW over the past few months, mowing down all competition in their path. Ultimately, they earned a title shot against the tag team champions, Elevated Status, back at Bash at the Brew 24, and took full advantage. Now the champs, themselves, Leonis and Maximus had to survive against the former champs in a ladder match at Bash at the Brew 25.
However, the story of this match was not The Qrown, but the visible acrimony building between the former champions, Jonny Nova and ERA. ERA seemed to be making questionable decisions that frustrated Jonny Nova increasingly as the match went on. First, following a modified 3d on Leonis Khan, Nova grabbed the ladder to try to earn a quick victory. For some reason, though, ERA convinced him not to end the match so early and focus on inflicting more punishment on The Qrown.
Later, we skipped forward in time to find ERA and Nova arguing in the center of the ring. An obviously angered Nova grabbed a chair, put Leonis’ head in between two steps and slammed the chair into the ladder with Leonis’ inside. Leonis slowly rolled out of the ring, leaving just Nova and ERA in the ring. They both started to climb the ladder toward the belts when ERA acted as if he could not climb or reach due to his shoulder injury.
The Qrown took advantage of the delay and toppled over the ladder. Maximus slammed the ladder shut with Jonny Nova’s arm in between, then put ERA in there and slammed the ladder shut on both of them. Seemingly in control, Maximus started to climb the ladder, but Nova leapt up to join him up top where they brawled until the ladder tipped over, sending both to the mat.
After the final commercial, we returned to find ERA and Leonis on top of the ladder, but again, ERA seemed to be unable to reach up and grab the belts even after Leonis fell off and left him alone at the top. Again capitalizing on the delay, Leonis mustered enough strength to hold ERA’s leg while Maximus climbed the ladder without issue and easily grabbed the belts.
After the match, Nova looked to be helping ERA get untangled from the ladder, but slammed his face into it instead. Nova tore the ladder apart and used a sharp piece to drive a spike into ERA’s head. At the same time, Eric Christopher entered and handed Nova a chair. As Christopher watched on and cheered, it became obvious that he and Jonny Nova are now aligned.
