Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 131 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Game of War from the MidFlorida Event Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 18, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
MARINA TUCKER (c) vs. SHALONCE ROYAL
CCW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The CCW Women’s Champion underestimated the former Belladonna Division Champion, Shalonce Royal, and almost paid the price for it. Royal started hot and used a side headlock to set the pace of the match. Tucker made it off the mat and up to her feet more than once, but each time, Royal would use a side headlock takeover to bring the action right back down to the mat. Each time she did, of course, Royal sang a high note for emphasis.
The match really picked up steam after the commercial. Tucker hit a throat punch before the break and, when we returned, used the middle rope to choke the challenger as she mocked Royal with a high note of her own. In response, Royal came out of the corner with a flurry of strikes. Tucker withstood the barrage, then hit a facebuster and basement dropkick but posed in the center of the ring instead of going for the pin.
Royal made it to her feet with a nasty savate kick, but she, too, could not make the pin in time to secure the victory. Instead, she fell into the corner and took a charging punch from Tucker. When Marina whipped Royal into the opposite corner, Royal rebounded with a spear that left both women down. Royal was up first and sang as she hit a beautiful back handspring elbow and a basement drop kick for a near fall.
Royal withstood a chinbreaker and a series of chops from the champion, but countered with a clothesline and two knees to the face to set up and STO for another near-fall. Tucker grabbed the ropes to force the break and crawled to the apron. Royal charged, but Tucker punched her in the gut and hit a neck breaker across the middle rope. Tucker tried to mock Royal as she re-entered the ring, and was met with a bicycle kick to the face for it.
Tucker slumped in one corner and Royal charged. Tucker moved and lifted the challenger up into a Gory Special, then dropped her backwards and throat first, onto the ropes. As Royal recoiled, Tucker grabbed her around the neck for what looked like a Stinger Death Drop, but somersaulted forward instead to drive Royal’s face into the mat for the finisher.
WINNER: MARINA TUCKER
MATCH #2
THE QROWN (c) vs. DAISY KILL & RIPPER ZBYSZKO
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
We joined this match already in progress with Leonis Khan in charge against Ripper Zbyszko. Leonis whipped Ripper into the ropes and hit an atomic drop as Maximus Khan entered with a reverse atomic drop. Leonis hit a series of chops in one corner, but missed when he charged at Ripper. As a result, Leonis went shoulder-first into the ring post and fell to the outside.
While Maximus argued with the referee, Daisy Kill ran over and threw Leonis into the post and rolled him back into the ring. At this point, Ripper and Daisy did everything they could to set up double teams in their corner on Leonis. At one point, Daisy Kill went over and pushed Maximus on the apron. When Maximus tried to get revenge, the referee prevented him from entering. All the while, Daisy and Ripper were choking Leonis in their corner.
Later, when the referee caught Ripper Zbyszko again choking Leonis in his corner with a scarf, the official tried to take it away. As Ripper argued and blocked the referee’s view, Leonis dove over to make the tag to Maximus. Unfortunately, the referee did not see it and sent Maximus back to the outside. Finally, Daisy and Ripper whipped Leonis into the ropes and Leonis rebounded with a double clothesline that left all three men down.
Leonis slowly crawled to his corner and made the tag to Maximus who ran in and hit three consecutive clotheslines to the challengers and an Alabama Slam to Ripper Zbyszko. At the same time, Leonis re-entered and started choking Daisy Kill with his head band. Leonis lifted Daisy Kill into the air and handed him off to Maximus who dropped Daisy face first onto the turnbuckle. As Daisy Kill bounced off the buckle and turned around, Leonis floored him with a discus clothesline.
WINNERS: THE QROWN
