TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 134

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 134 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 26 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on March 4, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
DAISY KILL vs. RICKY MARTINEZ

We started this episode with Daisy Kill and Ricky Martinez in the ring with the fans chanting “305! 305!” in support of Martinez. Martinez knocked Daisy outside the ring immediately, hit a tope suicida and threw Kill back into the ring. From there, Martinez leapt to the top rope and hit a flying cross body.

Kill waited for the right moment and, while slumped in the corner, grabbed Ricky’s tights and propelled him, face first, into the middle turnbuckle, then pulled Martinez by his hair into a reverse neck breaker for a near fall. Martinez hit a couple of punches, but Kill grabbed the the final punch in mid air and spun Martinez around into a spine buster. With Martinez on the mat, Daisy Kill hit several low kicks to Martinez’ face, but, this time, Martinez grabbed the final kick and converted into an exploder suplex.

Now in control, Martinez quickly hit a splash, clothesline, savate kick, spin kick, and a neck breaker, then popped the crowd when he wrapped his legs around Daisy Kill’s head, rolled him over and pounded Kill’s face into the mat ten times. As the “305!” chants reignited, Kill slumped into one corner and Martinez followed. When they locked up, the referee tried to call for a break but was accidentally poked in the eye. Kill used the distraction to hit a low blow, then rolled Martinez up for the pin.

WINNER: DAISY KILL

MATCH #1
JONNY NOVA vs. ERA

Jonny Nova shocked everyone in Episode 124 when he turned heel and attacked his partner, E.R.A. after a loss to The Qrown. E.R.A. was clearly out for blood and went straight for Nova before the bell rang. The action spilled outside where Nova’s new associate, Eric Christopher, distracted E.R.A. long enough for Jonny Nova to come up from behind and shove E.R.A. into the steel steps.

Christopher got involved again just moments later when he jumped on the apron to argue with the referee to give Nova time to sneak up and hit a reverse neck breaker to stop a brief E.R.A. rally. From there, Nova went to work on E.R.A’s injured arm and shoulder. At one point, E.R.A. reached the ropes to force a rope break, but Nova yanked E.R.A. off of the ropes into the center of the ring. E.R.A. scooted toward one corner and, as Nova approached, spit in Jonny Nova’s face.

When we returned from commercial, E.R.A. was now firmly in control. He hit a flying clothesline, and a splash in the corner. Nova managed to reverse a whip into the corner, but E.R.A. moved as Nova charged, leapt to the top rope and hit most of a moonsault that left both men down.

After a near fall, Jonny Nova managed to duck a clothesline and countered with a shoulder breaker to E.R.A.’s already-injured appendage. E.R.A. still managed to withstand a subsequent Jonny Nova bicycle kick and returned fire with a knee strike that again left both men down. E.R.A. slowly rolled over to attempt a pin, but garnered just a two count.

Nova slumped into one corner, but managed to evade a charging E.R.A. and sent his former partner’s injured shoulder directly into the ring post. As E.R.A. writhed in pain, Nova locked him in the Rings of Saturn. E.R.A. never submitted, but he did pass out. After Nova was declared the winner, he locked E.R.A. in the hold once again and refused to let go until Ricky Martinez ran in and forced him to do so.

WINNER: JONNY NOVA
