TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 135

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 135 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Conquer Kissimmee 8 from Sun on the Beach in Kissimmee, Florida on February 10, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
KAMILLE (c) vs. VALENTINA ROSSI
NWA WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Early in this contest, the challenger, Valentina Rossi, withstood several attempts by the champion, Kamille, to pull her hair to gain an advantage. Rossi started a rally with a snap mare, hip toss, arm drag and a splits onto the chest of the champion. However, Kamille played possum and, at the right moment, unleashed a lariat on Rossi to thwart the comeback.

From there, Kamille went to work on the left arm of Valentina Rossi, slamming it into the mat and tying it up in the ropes until the referee forced a break. Twice, Kamille lifted Rossi up into a body slam, but drove her, shoulder-first into the turnbuckle instead. After a couple of short-arm shoulder strikes from the champion Rossi managed to reverse a slam into a back suplex that left both competitors down on the mat.

Kamille was up first, but missed a bicycle kick that opened the door for a Rossi splash, overhead kick, leg trip and a reverse neck breaker that nearly ended the match. Kamille crawled to the ropes as Rossi jumped out to the apron for a kick but missed and landed in a splits. When she rose to her feet, Kamille suplexed Rossi back into the ring from the apron.

Once Rossi was back in the ring, Kamille lifted her into a torture rack. However, in doing so, Kamille swung Rossi’s legs and struck the referee. As such, there was no one to acknowledge Rossi tapping out the torture rack, nor was there anyone available to count Rossi’s quick roll up following her escape from the submission hold.

As the referee finally came to, Rossi slammed Kamille’s face into her knee, then nailed her with a backstabber that almost earned her the NWA World Women’s Championship. Rossi attempted a fisherman’s suplex, but Kamille blocked it and lifted Rossi up for a Death Valley Driver that set up the spear.

WINNER: KAMILLE

MATCH #2
JACK TALOS (c) vs. BEN RUTEN
BRCW CHAMPIONSHIP

Looking at the size difference between these two competitors, one might assume Ben Ruten had no chance to defeat the Boca Raton Championsip Wrestling titleholder, Jack Talos…and they would be correct. In fact, when Ruten got a good look at Talos, he tried to escape the ringside area completely.

The action spilled outside almost immediately. Talos threw Ruten out of the ring, then followed Ruten to the floor. Talos no-sold several shots from Ruten, then slammed his face into the apron and lifted him up for what looked like a lawn dart of Ruten into the post. Ruten wriggled out at the last second, pushed Talos into the post instead, and hurried back into the ring.

When Talos returned, he hit a knockout punch, whipped Ruten into the corner, and flattened him with a splash. Talos whipped Ruten to the opposite corner and charged again. However, Ruten jumped up and over and stunned Talos with a shotgun drop kick and a European upper cut. With the hot hand, Ruten tried to capitalize with a move off the ropes. Talos, however, stood up, caught Ruten by the throat, and lifted him up for the choke slam.

WINNER: JACK TALOS
