TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 136

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 136 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Bash at the Brew 27 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on April 7, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
JACKAL STEVENS vs. ALAN “S2S” MARTINEZ

Jackal Stevens took control early in this match with a spinning heel kick for a quick near fall, followed by what must have been a dozen stomps to Alan Martinez in the corner. Martinez returned fire with two back elbows, threw Stevens outside the ring, then connected with a basement dropkick. When Martinez tried to follow Stevens outside, Stevens hit an urunage on the apron and a springboard senton back into the ring.

Martinez withstood a spinning heel kick and countered with a low kick, basement dropkick and a leg drop as we headed into commercial. When we returned, both competitors were back outside the ring. Martinez threw Stevens back inside and followed him back in with a springboard boot to the kidneys and a split legged moonsault.

Later, Martinez climbed to the top rope looking for the Blockbuster, but Stevens caught him in mid-air into what looked like a suplex until he lost his balance and both men tumbled over the top rope and back out onto the floor. Stevens made it to his feet first, doused himself with a bottle of water from the commentary table, then slammed Martinez onto the concrete floor and threw him back inside the ring. Stevens climbed to the top rope, but Martinez surprised him with a modified Frankensteiner takedown from the top which left both men down.

Soon after, Meto ran to ringside and looked to confer with Martinez. The two men, who have been at odds lately, quickly started arguing which caused Meto to flip Martinez the middle finger and leave. As Meto left, Stevens charged and Martinez lifted him up and over to the apron. From there, Stevens hit an ensiguri, climbed to the top rope, and hit the Blockbuster for the win. After the match, Martinez and Stevens shook hands on a great match. Is there a partnership forming? Stay tuned.

WINNER: JACKAL STEVENS

MATCH #2
OZZY KILMEISTER vs. EDDIE TAURUS

This match started quickly with Ozzy Kilmeister hitting two shoulder blocks off the ropes and a spinning back suplex for a near fall which caused Taurus to escape to the outside to regroup. Kilmeister followed with a cannonball to the floor and returned Eddie to the ring.

Kilmeister retained the hot hand after withstanding a knee to the face from Taurus and hit a rolling facebuster that left both men down momentarily. Soon, though Kilmeister was up and hit three consecutive running back elbows and a flying headbutt for another near fall. Kilmeister went for a ripcord headbutt, but Taurus reversed and hit a Michinoku driver for a near fall of his own.

This prompted Invidia to jump onto the apron to argue with the referee. Taurus took his eyes off of Kilmeister and grabbed Invidia. Kilmeister snuck up from behind, helped free Invidia, and hit the ripcord headbutt. When that garnerd just a two count, Ozzy tried to pick Eddie up for another one. Taurus countered with a back elbow, then escaped a reversed cradle and hit a beautiful sit-out powerbomb.

WINNER: EDDIE TAURUS
