TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 137

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 137 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Conquer Kissimmee 8 from the Son on the Beach in Kissimmee, Florida on February 10, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
HARLEY CAMERON vs. MARINA TUCKER (c)
CCW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Early in this match, the challenger, Harley Cameron tried some quick roll ups to get an easy victory, but to no avail. Cameron hit two arm drags and a splash in the corner, but Tucker returned fire with a sliding German suplex in the corner that sent Cameron crashing to the mat and Tucker sliding completely out of the ring.

Later, Cameron would hit three consecutive clotheslines and a cross body off the ropes for a near fall, then hit a charging European upper cut, ducked a clothesline from Tucker, and hit a reverse neck breaker for another. Tucker evened the score with a sudden chin breaker and tried a cover and pulled the tights to try to sneak a dirty victory. The referee caught the tights pull and stopped the count, but soon after, Tucker used a Gory Special into a modified buckle bomb to set up the finisher and, just like that, Cameron’s night was finished.

WINNER: MARINA TUCKER

MATCH #2
CURT STALLION vs. MARTIN STONE

The theme of this match was continuous contests in the center of the ring to see who could withstand the most chops to the chest. Early on, Stallion and Stone exchanged hard strikes until Stallion got angry and unleashed a ton of forearms with a discus punch at the end. Stone would roll outside after the barrage of strikes, but played possum until Curt Stallion tried a tope suicida. Stone unleashed an upper cut to Stallion as he flew outside of the ring and rolled back inside to join him.

After the commerical, Stone found himself in control and looked to slowly dismantle Stallion with chops and European upper cuts to set up a rear chin lock on the mat. Stone hit two short arm clotheslines, but missed the third as Stallion hit a German suplex that left both men down. Stallion was up first with a knee strike and a basement dropkick, but Stone countered with a suplex into the turnbuckles, a splash into the corner, and another short arm clothesline.

When that sequence garnered just a two count for Stone, he hit a punch, snap mare and a cutter in rapid succession for another near fall. When both men made it back to their feet, another chops contest took place. As that escalated, Stallion hit a savate kick and a knee strike, but Stone followed with a headbutt and both men were down again.

When they returned to their feet once more, Stone and Stallion again challenged one another to a contest of chops and overhand strikes. Suddenly, though, Martin Stone caught Curt Stallion’s hand mid-chop, wrestled him down to the mat, and converted into a cross face submission for the win.

WINNER: MARTIN STONE
