TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 141

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 141 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 28 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on May 6, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
MOOSE vs. DAMIAN FENRIR (w/ALEX CHAMBERLAIN)

Alex Chamberlain arrived in the arena first, flanked by Damian Fenrir for, what was supposed to be, another installment of the Chamberlain Challenge. When Moose’s music played in response to Chamberlain’s call for an opponent, Alex thought better of the deal. He quickly announced that it had been changed to the Damian Fenrir Challenge and pawned the former IMPACT Champion off on his partner.

Moose went on offense from the moment the bell rang, hitting some loud, hard chops on Fenrir until one sent Damian over the top rope to the floor. Moose followed and pummeled Fenrir around the ring. Fenrir grabbed a chair, but the referee took it away as Moose hit Fenrir with a nasty boot to the face and threw him back inside the ring.

Chamberlain tried to distract Moose while Fenrir hit a plancha, but Moose moved Chamberlain into Fenrir’s path. Fenrir returned to the ring and distracted the referee while Chamberlain recovered and threw Moose into the steel ring steps. Fenrir threw Moose back inside the ring and held a rear chin lock on the mat to slow things down.

Moose managed to elbow out of the move, but Fenrir quickly countered with a reverse neck breaker for a near fall. Fenrir unloaded with a series of punches as Moose made it to his knees, but Moose no-sold all of them and began to hulk up. Moose blocked a Fenrir blow and countered with a headbutt and followed with running chop, European upper cut, and shoulder tackle. Finally, Moose hit a senton, but garnered just a two count.

Moose charged again, but Fenrir sidestepped. Moose lifted Fenrir up for a power bomb, but Fenrir escaped and hit an ensiguri and modified Falcon Arrow for a near fall. At that point, Chamberlain jumped up on the apron and distracted the referee as Fenrir grabbed a chair and slammed it into Moose’s back. The referee turned around the make the count, but Moose miraculously kicked out at two.

Fenrir whipped Moose into one corner, but Moose reversed and went for a shoulder tackle. Fenrir got a boot up at the last second and jumped to the middle rope. Moose recovered and hit a sit-out choke slam to Fenrir that nearly ended the match. Instead, though, Fenrir quickly returned with a rolling reverse cradle for a near fall and powerbomb for another.

Moose and Fenrir both made it to their feet simultaneously and Moose went for a ripcord clothesline. Fenrir ducked, then charged but hit the referee instead. Moose hit a spear and went for the cover, but there was no referee to count the pinfall.

As Moose went over to check on the fallen official, Fenrir hit a low blow kick and grabbed the steel chair, once more. Attempting the old Eddie Guerrero trick, he slammed the chair on the mat, tossed it to Moose and fell on his back. With the referee slow to come to, Moose decided to use the chair anyway. He slammed Fenrir in the back as the referee regained consciousness and made the easy cover for the win.

After the match, Chamberlain appeared upset with Fenrir and chided him in the ring. First, it appeared the two would come to blows, but sanity prevailed and the two partners separately made their way to the back. However, the acrimony between Chamberlain and Fenrir can not possibly be finished. Time will tell.

WINNER: MOOSE
