Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 142 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 28 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on May 6, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
TONE BENNETT vs. CHRIS FARROW (c)
CCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
We only had time to catch the highlights of this match as Tone Bennett tried to unseat the CCW Cruiserweight Champion, Chris Farrow. Early on, the two competitors exchanged holds and reversals with no one gaining the upper hand. Once the action skipped forward, we found Bennett coming off the ropes with a crucifix attempt, that was reversed by Farrow, before being reversed by Bennett back into a tombstone piledriver.
Bennett reached his feet first, but Farrow followed shortly after. Bennett went for a standing Sliced Bread, but Farrow reversed and tried one of his own. The two men each made one more attempt that was reversed by the other until Farrow drove a series of knees into the skull of Tone Bennett. That softened Bennett up just enough for Farrow to fully execute the Sliced Bread to retain.
WINNER: CHRIS FARROW
MATCH #2
DAISY KILL & JACK TALOS vs. ERA & RICKY MARTINEZ
The fans were solidly behind ERA and Ricky Martinez as this match began. That support fueled some early offense and efficient tag team work from the good guys against Daisy Kill. However, Jack Talos tagged in and laughed as he towered over Ricky Martinez and similarly scoffed as Martinez shoved him twice.
Suddenly, ERA ran in, leap frogged his partner and drop kicked Talos out the floor. ERA followed with a basement dropkick from inside the ring, then jumped up to the middle rope and spread them wide for Ricky Martinez to execute a tope suicida. Talos saw it coming and managed to catch Martinez in mid-air, but ERA leapt to the top rope and hit a moonsault onto everybody on the floor which brought the fans to their feet.
After commercial, the action returned to the ring where Daisy Kill used an eye rake to gain an advantage on ERA in the corner. Talos returned and whipped Kill into ERA slumped in the corner, then power slammed ERA as he bounced off the turnbuckles. Sensing Martinez’ frustration on the outside, Talos flipped him off, then knocked Martinez completely off the apron.
Angered, Martinez tried to rush into the ring, but only managed to distract the referee long enough to facilitate a double team by Talos and Kill. As the referee turned around, Talos draped ERA over the middle rope for a choke. When the referee forced a break, Talos whipped ERA into the corner for a splash, then lifted ERA into a fireman’s carry for a rolling senton.
Talos lifted ERA into atomic drop position and tagged Daisy Kill at the same time. Talos dropped ERA onto Kill’s knee for a double team version of the atomic drop, then came off the ropes with a huge boot to ERA’s face. After a near fall, Daisy Kill pressed his knee into the back of ERA’s neck, body slammed him, and gyrated over ERA as the fans booed.
Daisy Kill took too much time taunting and celebrating which resulted in a missed elbow drop off the ropes that allowed ERA to dive for the hot tag. Daisy Kill managed to grab one of ERA’s legs and temporarily prevented the tag, but ERA used an ensiguri to break Daisy’s grip and finally made the hot tag.
As expected, Ricky Martinez entered on fire and immediately hit a hurricanrana off the ropes to Daisy Kill. Martinez followed with a series of kicks, then wrapped his legs around Daisy Kill’s head and gyrated before slamming Kill’s face into the mat ten times. This brought all four men into the ring for what turned into a brawl. No matter how the referee tried to break up the melee, he could not. With no other choice, the referee called for a double disqualification.
RESULT: NO CONTEST
