TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 151

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 151 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW St. Lucie Showdown 3 from the MidFlorida Event Center in St. Lucie, Florida on June 23, 2023. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
BOZWORTH vs. OZZY KILMEISTER

Bozworth, who I first saw live at Assault Wrestling Alliance’s Homecoming 2021, made his CCW debut here facing the popular Ozzy Kilmeister, flanked, as always, by Invidia. Boz went on the offensive early by biting Ozzy’s face to the dismay of the referee. In response, Kilmeister hit a shoulder tackle and a flying headbutt that sent Boz outside the ring to regroup.

In fact, Bozworth was playing possum on the outside. He waited for Ozzy to approach the apron, then snapped Kilmeister’s left arm across the top rope and slid in for a leg drop before taunting the fans and Invidia. Kilmeister mounted a rally when he evaded a charging Boz in the corner and unloaded with a ripcord headbutt, and spinning back suplex for a near fall.

The fans began to chant, “Mosh! Mosh! Mosh!” in support of Ozzy Kilmeister as he unloaded with a splash in the corner, followed by three running back elbows and a flying headbutt off the ropes for a near fall. At that point, Invidia decided to jump up on the apron to discuss something with Kilmeister.

Bozworth used the distraction to sneak up behind Ozzy unnoticed. Boz locked Kilmeister in a Cobra Clutch and put Ozzy to sleep. Afterwards, Ozzy chided Invidia for the distraction and headed back to the dressing room alone. To be continued…

WINNER: BOZWORTH

MATCH #2
LINDSAY SNOW vs. RUTHIE JAY

We recently saw Lindsay Snow’s return to CCW in Episode 147, where she defeated Nicolth Lucero by forcing her sister to tap out. On this night, Snow continued her climb up the ladder in the women’s division by taking on the always tough Ruthie Jay, who we last saw in Episode 126 in a mixed tag match.

We went to commercial after the introductions and picked up the match in progress upon our return. Snow hit a strike that sent Ruthie Jay to the outside for a breather. Just like in the first match, Ruthie Jay played possum until Lindsay signaled for a tope suicida. At that point, Ruthie Jay tripped Lindsay and pulled her outside the ring. Jay tossed Snow into the guardrail, slammed Snow’s arm into the steel steps, then threw Lindsay back inside the ring.

Jay maintained control inside the ring by draping Snow’s neck across the middle rope and choking her with it. After a running knee strike to Snow’s back, Ruthie Jay crossed both of Snow’s arms across her neck and pulled from behind for another choke. Snow used a forearm strike to escape, but really got fired up after Ruthie Jay slapped Snow across the face.

Quickly, Snow hit an ensiguri, reverse cross body from the second rope, charging forearm in the corner and a bulldog for a near fall. Jay evened the score with a double thrust to Snow’s throat and even followed with a beautiful sit out powerbomb for a near fall. However, when Ruthie Jay whipped Lindsay into the ropes for a hip toss, Snow blocked it and rolled through into a cross face that forced Ruthie Jay to tap.

WINNER: LINDSAY SNOW
