Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 152 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at CCW St. Lucie Showdown 3 from the MidFlorida Event Center in St. Lucie, Florida on June 23, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
MATT TAVEN vs. CHRIS FARROW
This match got going almost immediately after the show opened, but it still took until the first commercial break before one participant took control in any way. For the first several minutes, Matt Taven and Chris Farrow exchanged hold for hold with some impressive chain wrestling.
After the first commercial, Farrow was starting to mount some offense using his quickness to stick-and-move against Taven. A springboard moonsault from the apron connected for a sudden near fall, causing Taven to roll to the outside. As Taven taunted the fans, Farrow flew over the top rope with a tope con hilo and tossed Taven back into the ring.
Farrow climbed to the top rope, but Taven pushed the referee into the ropes, causing Farrow to fall. Taven attacked Farrow on the top turnbuckle, then brought him back to the mat for a backbreaker. Taven left Farrow positioned across his knee to stretch him a little, then stood Farrow up for a double underhook backbreaker into a bow and arrow submission.
Farrow tried to battle back, but Taven reversed a whip into the corner with a backwards somersault that led to an ensiguri and sit out power bomb in rapid succession. Taven went for his own springboard moonsault, but Farrow got his knees up and wrapped Taven in a small package for a near fall.
Farrow hit a springboard moonsault and a springboard flying forearm from the apron, for near falls. Taven tried to counter with a forward DDT, but Farrow hit the brakes and climbed to the top rope. Taven followed and superplexed Farrow, then rolled through to hit that forward DDT.
Taven went for a frog splash, but Farrow rolled out of the way and leapt up to hit a Shining Wizard. Farrow climbed to the top, but missed the 450 splash. The savvy veteran Matt Taven rolled out of the way, then wrapped Farrow up in a small package for the win.
