Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 154 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at CCW Bash at the Brew 30 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on July 1, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
ALEX CHAMBERLAIN vs. RICKY MARTINEZ
This match started slow with an extended feeling out process between Alex Chamberlain and Ricky Martinez leading to multiple resets. After the first commercial, Martinez successfully evaded a charging Chamberlain in the corner four consecutive times. The final time, Martinez used an up and over to set up and hurricanrana and seemed to be starting a rally.
Chamberlain regrouped before Martinez could lock his legs around Chamberlain’s head and pound Alex’s face into the mat. Chamberlain used his long arms to reach up and rake Martinez’ eye to release the hold, then flattened Ricky with a sit out facebuster.
Chamberlain dominated the remainder of the match, successfully thwarting every comeback attempt by Martinez, Eventually, though, Chamberlain took too long setting up a superplex and got his head clapped by Martinez to knock him off the top rope and a top rope shotgun dropkick that left both men down until the count of 8.
Martinez hit a savate kick and a neck breaker and went back to wrap his legs around Alex’s head to pound his face into the mat. Again, the savvy Chamberlain wriggled out and slid outside the ring to regroup. This time, though, Martinez hit a tope suicida on Chamberlain and the two brawled around ringside.
Chamberlain tossed Martinez back into the ring before getting into an altercation with a fan in the front row smoking a cigar. Chamberlain punched the fan, took his cigar, went into the ring, and burned Martinez’ face with it. Officials from all sides of the venue rushed the ring as the referee called for the obvious disqualification.
WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: RICKY MARTINEZ
