Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 157 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at CCW Bash at the Brew 31 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on August 5, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
ARIEL LEVY (c) vs. JACKAL STEVENS
CCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
On CCW Alive Episode 153, Jackal Stevens interrupted Ariel Levy’s one year championship anniversary celebration and demanded his opportunity at the CCW Heavyweight Championship. At Bash at the Brew 31, Stevens would get his chance. Stevens gained the upper hand early, but Levy turned the tide when he escaped a suplex and pulled Stevens down by the hair.
Levy charged, but Stevens lifted him up and over to the apron. Levy snapped Stevens’ neck across the ropes from the apron, then hit a neck breaker and climbed to the top rope. Levy missed a leg drop and both men tumbled back outside the ring. Levy pushed Stevens into the guardrail and busted Stevens open, then set up a table nearby. Levy tried to power bomb Stevens through the table, but Stevens escaped and both men made their way back inside the ring.
Stevens was in control as the match re-entered the ring, but missed on a springboard senton from the apron when Levy got his knees up. Levy went for a triangle choke, but Stevens bit his way out before Levy could lock it in. Levy hit his feet first and dropped Stevens with a clothesline. Stevens reversed a whip into the corner, sending Levy up and over to the apron. Levy climbed to the top rope, but was knocked down with an ensiguri from Stevens, who then climbed to the top for a superplex.
The action spilled back outside the ring when Levy went for a flying cross body and got caught in mid-air. Stevens tried to convert into a suplex, but both men tumbled over the top rope to the floor. Both men made it back into the ring just before the referee counted them out.
Back in the ring, Levy charged for a Meteora, but Stevens blocked him. Instead, Levy used an eye rake to set up a tornado DDT that left both men down. Levy was up first and went for a Codebreaker, but Stevens blocked it. Levy hit a German suplex, and Stevens returned fire with a clothesline out of the corner that left both men down once again.
Stevens hit a springboard back kick, a backbreaker and a springboard senton that nearly ended the match, then climbed to the top rope. Levy charged and Stevens leapt over top of Levy back to the mat. As Stevens turned around, Levy hit the Codebreaker and got a near fall of his own.
Angry at what he perceived to be a slow count, Levy went outside to grab the CCW Championship belt to use as a weapon and end the match once and for all. The referee took the belt before Levy could use it, as usual. Levy waited until the referee turned to put the belt away, and took brass knuckles out of his tights. Levy went to use the knucks, but Stevens ducked. Stevens went for an Olympic slam and Levy clocked him with the brass knuckles in mid-air.
When that earned Levy just a two count, he charged for another Codebreaker. This time, Stevens moved and Levy hit the referee with it instead. Stevens hit the Olympic Slam, but there was no referee to make the count. Stevens picked up the brass knuckles and nailed Levy with them, but Levy rolled outside the ring.
Stevens followed Levy outside and the two men battled around the ring with the referee still knocked out. Levy went for a DDT on the steel ring steps, but Stevens reversed it and power bombed Levy through the table that was set up earlier. Both men re-entered the ring as the referee came to. Stevens went for the cover, but could only garner a two count.
The two men rose to their knees, and then their feet, trading blows in the center of the ring until Stevens hit an Exploder suplex that sent Levy crashing into the turnbuckles, then climbed to the top rope. Stevens hit the Blockbuster, made the cover, got the three count and became the new CCW Heavyweight Champion. After the match, several members of the locker room ran out to celebrate with the new champion.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: JACKAL STEVENS
