Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 159 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Summer Glory 2023 from the Texas Troubador Theater in Nashville, Tennessee on August 19, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
FREYA THE SLAYA vs. MILA MOORE (w/ CAM STEWART)
For some reason, Mila Moore and Cam Stewart entered the arena exuding confidence before this match. That confidence was misplaced. As Mila and Cam arrogantly took selfies in the ring, Freya stood right behind Mila. When Moore turned around, Freya attacked. Moments later, Mila Moore tried to slide out of the ring with Cam Stewart pulling her by the arms to expedite the process.
Freya grabbed Mila by the legs to force a tug-of-war with Stewart, then suddenly let go sending Moore crashing into Stewart and the ringside guardrail. When Moore returned to the ring, Freya hit a bicycle kick, and a leg drop, then tied Moore in the ropes and went for a chop. Moore ducked and countered with a bicycle kick and came off the ropes with a cross body.
Freya caught Moore mid-air and converted into a spinning gutbuster for a near fall. Again, The Slaya tied Moore in the ropes for the big chop, but, this time, Cam Stewart jumped onto the apron to block it. Freya easily pushed Stewart down to the floor and hit the chop, then went for a scissor kick. This time, Stewart successfully blocked Freya and gave Mila Moore time to recover and attack from behind.
Moore capitalized with a spin kick off the ropes, a savate kick, and a snap mare for a near fall, before both women rose to their feet and exchanged blows in the center of the ring. Freya won that exchange with a double throat chop, then tied Moore back in the ropes for the loudest chop yet. Freya followed with a scissor kick, but Stewart held her leg as she tried to re-enter the ring.
As Freya tussled with Cam Stewart, Mila Moore charged from behind. Freya saw it coming and moved out of the way at the last second, sending Moore crashing into Stewart. Moore stood there for a second, upset at what she had done, then turned around and got hit with Freya’s chokeslam. Following her win, to add insult to injury, Freya took Cam and Mila’s phone and took a celebratory selfie with it.
WINNER: FREYA THE SLAYA
MATCH #2
CAM STEWART (w/ MILA MOORE) vs. MARTIN STONE
Somehow, Moore and Stewart returned to the arena later with no less confidence than before as Stewart prepared to take on Martin Stone. Similar to the previous match, Stone took control with an early flurry of offense that ended with a flapjack that sent Stewart to ringside to regroup.
Stewart and Moore conferred briefly, then decided they had had enough and began to leave. Stone pushed Mila aside and caught up to Stewart near the curtain. Stone dragged Stewart back to ringside, then inflicted more damage around ringside with several hard chops against the guardrail.
When the action finally returned to the ring, Stone was in firm control. Stone stood on the second rope above Stewart and unloaded with shots as the fans counted along, Before Stone’s punch count reached ten, Stewart slid out and kick Stone’s feet out from under him. Stone rolled outside the ring, but Stewart followed, threw Stone back inside, and choked Stone with the middle rope.
Stewart attempted a couple of quick pins, then slowed things down with a rear chin lock on the mat. Stone eventually escaped with a chinbuster and both men exchanged blows in the center of the ring. A European upper cut stunned Stewart and Stone followed with a splash in the corner, ensiguri, and second rope shotgun dropkick.
As Stone looked to finish off Cam Stewart, Mila Moore jumped up onto the apron. When Stone went over to deal with Moore, Stewart snuck up for a roll up that garnered just a one count, then hit an ensiguri and a dropkick before whipping Stone into one corner. Stewart charged, but Stone moved. Martin followed with a clothesline to set up the slingshot DDT for the win.
WINNER: MARTIN STONE
