Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 163 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at CCW Bash at the Brew 32 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on September 2, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
THE QROWN (c) vs. CHA CHA CHARLIE & OZZY KILMEISTER
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The world tag team champions, The Qrown, took control of this match, and Cha Cha Charlie, right off the bat by cutting off the ring and making quick tags. Soon, though, Cha Cha turned the tide by going up and over on a whip, ducking a clothesline and coming off the ropes with a sling blade before making the tag to Ozzy Kilmeister.
Kilmeister hit a spinning diving headbutt on Leonis Khan, followed by a senton for a near fall. Kilmeister came off the ropes looking to capitalize, but Leonis Khan saw it coming and reversed into a snap powerslam. Leonis tagged Maximus and they hit Ozzy with a boot, a clothesline, and a double boot shot. However, when Maximus went for Sister Abigail, Ozzy escaped, reversed into a cutter, and tagged Cha Cha Charlie back into the match.
Charlie came off the top rope with a cross body for a near fall, then hit a splash in the corner on Maximus Khan. Khan reversed a whip into the corner and, when Charlie tried to go up and over again, caught Cha Cha by the legs and slammed him down to the mat. Maximus whipped Charlie into the ropes, then tagged Leonis who re-entered with a modified buckshot lariat to give control of the match back to the champions.
After several nasty chops from Leonis, Khan went for a powerslam, but Charlie wriggled out, pushed Leonis into the corner, and hit a savate kick followed by a Saito suplex that sent Leonis to the floor for a breather. Maximus ran in, but Charlie pulled the top rope down, sending Maximus to the floor, as well. From there, Ozzy Kilmeister hit a somersault senton onto both Khans and Cha Cha Charlie came right behind it with a moonsault from the top rope down to the floor.
When the action returned to the ring, Kilmeister ducked a clothesline from Maximus, knocked out Leonis on the apron, then hit a sunset flip for a near fall. Moments later, a leaping facebuster from Kilmeister nearly ended the match, with Maximus kicking out just before the count of three.
As the fans gasped at how close the near fall was, Kilmeister hit another Saito suplex as Cha Cha Charlie again climbed to the top rope. Once at the top, Charlie looked to put his famous hat on his head, a signal for the Mangu Splash. However, it slipped out of Charlie’s hands and into Invidia’s. Charlie tried to take the hat back, but Invidia inexplicably refused to let go of it.
At the same time, Maximus whipped Ozzy Kilmeister into that corner, knocking Cha Cha Charlie off and down to the floor. Kilmeister, alone in the ring, got hit with a spear from Leonis and another from Maximus to earn the pinfall and the victory, even though it was clear that Invidia was holding Cha Cha Charlie’s leg to prevent Charlie from making the save.
After the match ended and The Qrown made their way to the dressing room, Charlie and Ozzy had a heated discussion about the actions of Invidia. It seemed as though Ozzy did not see any of the things we all saw Invidia do to Charlie. Eventually, rather than fight, Charlie hugged Ozzy and rolled out of the ring. Invidia and Ozzy cracked open two cold ones and toasted, but as Ozzy turned to face the crowd, Invidia betrayed him with a low blow and bit him on his arm so hard it drew blood. Officials ran in from the back to save Ozzy, but the damage had already been done.
WINNERS: THE QROWN
