MATCH #1
JAI VIDAL vs. METO (c)
CCW SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP
Jai Vidal thought he had won the CCW Southeastern Championship in record time after a Shining Wizard set up a Styles Clash within second of the opening bell. Vidal made the cover and got the three count, but the referee soon realized Meto’s foot had been on the bottom rope and called for the match to restart. Meto rolled outside the ring to regroup but Vidal followed a tope suicida, then another.
Vidal attempted a third tope, but Meto caught him and threw him face-first into the steel ring steps. When the action returned to the ring, Meto withstood a running knee and a clothesline from Vidal, then caught Vidal’s running boot and reversed into an Exploder Suplex.
It was all Meto as we headed into commercial, as the champion hit a German before the break, one more after the break, and a double underhook suplex for a near fall. When Vidal made it to his feet, Meto clotheslined him over the top rope, followed Vidal outside and tossed him back into the ring. Meto whipped Vidal into the corner and the momentum sent Vidal up and over the top to the floor once more.
Vidal was nearly counted out, but made it to the apron at the count of eight. However, Meto rushed over and knocked Vidal back down to the floor. When Vidal finally re-entered, Jai suddenly hit an ensiguri that left both competitors down. They exchanged blows on their feet until Vidal hit a double underhook DDT and Meto countered with a bicycle kick to the face.
Meto hit a standard power bomb, then a double underhook power bomb for a near fall. Vidal was up first and hit a drop kick off the ropes that left both men down once again. Another exchange of blows took place as Meto and Jai rose to their feet. One hard shot from Meto looked like it knocked Vidal out, but when Meto approached again, Jai used a creative roll up with bridge for a near fall. Meto was up first and stunned Vidal with a spear from close range. then hit one more at full speed to retain.
WINNER: METO
MATCH #2
MARINA TUCKER (c) vs. RUTHIE JAY vs. FREYA THE SLAYA
CCW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
This championship match was originally billed as a one-on-one contest between Marina Tucker and Freya the Slaya. However, just as the match was about to start, Ruthie Jay’s music hit. Ruthie entered the ring with a microphone, insulted Tucker and Freya, and challenged them to make this a triple threat match.
Of course, the challenge was accepted. The match began with Freya and Marina agreeing to work together against Ruthie Jay. Jay withstood the early attack and went for a cross body off the ropes, but Freya and Marina caught her in mid-air and teamed up for a fall away slam. Tucker choked Ruthie on the middle rope, then Freya hit a chop and a kick that sent Ruthie Jay to the floor.
Tucker snuck up behind Freya for a quick roll up, but Freya responded with a boot to the face and a cannonball senton to Tucker in the corner. Freya tied Tucker in the ropes for another hard chop, but missed on a scissor kick as Ruthie Jay came from behind and knocked The Slaya off the apron.
Tucker hit a basement elbow to the back of Ruthie’s head as Freya started to stir. When Freya re-entered, Jay and Tucker teamed up to suplex her, but Freya reversed and suplexed them both at the same time. Tucker was up first and subdued Freya with a knee strike to the head and a blockbuster from the second rope.
Freya was up first after the ensuing near fall and hit some hard chops and a Michinoku Driver. Freya made the cover, but Ruthie Jay broke up the pin. Freya sent Ruthie Jay to the outside just as Marina Tucker came from behind with a sliding German suplex to Freya. Ruthie Jay jumped to the apron, but Tucker pulled one foot out from under her and sent her crashing into the mat face-first.
Tucker returned to the ring and exchanged chops with Freya. At the same time, Ruthie Jay climbed to the top rope for a double missile drop kick. When Freya and Marina slumped into opposite corners, Jay went back and forth with Meteora knees to each.
Marina Tucker finally stopped the onslaught when she caught a charging Ruthie Jay, set her up in a Gory Special, and propelled her backward into the turnbuckle. Freya came from behind with a choke slam to the champion. Before Freya could make the cover, Ruthie Jay drop kicked Freya in the back, covered Tucker herself, and took home the CCW Women’s Championship.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: RUTHIE JAY
