Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 170 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Bash at the Brew 35 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on December 2, 2023. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
ARIEL DOMINGUEZ (c) vs. CHRIS FARROW
CCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
These two high flyers started off the match at full speed, but neither could gain a clear advantage over the other for several minutes. After one reset, Farrow tried to jump up to the second rope for a springboard maneuver, but mis-timed it. At the same time, Dominguez was attempting a dropkick. The awkward collision left Dominguez with a seemingly injured right elbow.
The referee stopped the match, briefly, to check on Dominguez to see if he could continue with the injured arm. Eventually, though, Farrow got impatient and grabbed an arm bar on Dominguez’ battered appendage. Farrow tightened and tightened the hold in the center of the ring as Dominguez let out shrieks from the pain.
Farrow refused to release the hold until Dominguez rose to his feet, at which point Farrow unloaded with a series of kicks to the injured arm. When the last one sent Dominguez into the ropes, Ariel rebounded with a shoulder tackle to Farrow, then another. With his right arm injured, Dominguez used his left arm to throw strikes at Farrow, then suddenly hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.
Farrow was up first and tried to propel Dominguez into the air for a pop-up kick. Ariel saw it coming and held Farrow’s leg, so Farrow countered with an ensiguri, followed by Sliced Bread No. 2 for a near fall. Farrow looked to put Dominguez away with a 450° splash from the top rope, but Ariel moved. From there, Dominguez hit a leaping DDT, then lifted Farrow up for a Fireman’s Carry Driver (modified Michinoku Driver) to get the win.
WINNER: ARIEL DOMINGUEZ
PROMO
Next, Q.T. Marshall came out to the ring and made it clear that he intends to enter, and win, the King of the Territory match (which took place later that evening, but will be covered on CCW Alive Episode 172 in two weeks). Marshall explained that he had just resigned from AEW and was only interested in working for quality promotions like Coastal Championship Wrestling.
At that moment, Alex Chamberlain interrupted and called Marshall a hypocrite. Chamberlain said Marshall never cared about the fans until he was out of a job. Now, Marshall has come crawling back to them groveling. Chamberlain said no one comes into his house thinking they are going to beat him and become King of the Territory. This led to a furious brawl around ringside to set the table for later.
MATCH #2
MONSTER MOSH vs. EAST SIDE OUTLAWS
The East Side Outlaws, Brady Booker and Luke Sampson, attacked Ozzy Kilmeister and Skitz before the bell rang. Kilmeister ended up outside the ring, leaving Skitz to be double-teamed in the ring. Sampson choked Skitz from the apron, then entered to join Booker on a double Irish Whip. Skitz leapt to the second rope and hit a springboard back elbow to both men, then clanged their heads together.
However, with Kilmeister neutralized, Sampson and Booker quickly regrouped and dominated Skitz. Sampson hit a Samoan Drop for a near fall, then Booker taunted the crowd after a series of stomps to Skitz in the corner. After a Booker suplex resulted in another near fall, Skitz tried to dive for his corner to make the tag, but Booker grabbed Skitz by the feet and dragged him in the opposite direction.
Finally, Skitz rebounded after being whipped into the corner and hit a DDT to Sampson that gave him time to make the tag to Ozzy Kilmeister. Ozzy knocked Sampson off the apron, then hit a flying headbutt and a rolling face buster to Booker. When that garnered just a two count, Skitz ran in and assisted with an Eat Defeat. Kilmeister followed with a spinning back suplex and went for the cover.
Unfortunately, the referee’s attention was diverted trying to get Skitz out of the ring after his run-in moments earlier. This allowed Luke Sampson to run in and nail Kilmeister with a cane. Sampson put his partner on top of Ozzy just as the referee turned back around to count the pinfall.
WINNERS: EAST SIDE OUTLAWS
