According to their owner Chad Ca$h, “When you’re choosing your professional wrestling, it’s us versus them. You get what you pay for. Pay Your Dues.” The promotion is very active within its community, as many of their shows support local charities including The Shawn Lilly Foundation and more. In fact, the promotion’s final two shows of 2023 were Holiday Heat, which featured a toy drive for those less fortunate, and Headlock Hunger, for which fans were encouraged to donate one non-perishable food item to those in need.
The venue for this event was the Dewey Lowman American Legion Post #109. In 1933 a veteran by the name of William Gunther formed the American Legion post in Arbutus with the help of Robert Bedford who at the time was a member of Catonsville Post #25. The name of the post was selected as Dewey Lowman. Dewey Lowman and William Gunther were very good friends.
Since then, “Dewey Lowman Post 109 has been welcoming Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble.”
When I arrived at the venue, the doors were not yet open and a small group of eager fans were posted outside. The doors opened moments later and my ticket was scanned. Inside the actual venue, there was a small table set up to sell general concessions, plus an American Legion-run bar offering alcoholic beverages for the adults. In addition, there were several merch tables for the performers around the edge of the room, including Cheeseburger, The Hype, Mason Walls, and more.
Prior to the show, ring announcer, Slick Willie, thanked the promotion’s various sponsors, including SSA Apparel, J&L Vance, New Beginnings Construction, Paradigm Firearms Training, Sam’s Pizza & Subs, All Masters, Inc., Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill, Christina’s of Sparrow’s Point, and The Moonbounce Guy, urging fans to support those companies that made the event possible.
MATCH #1
CHEESEBURGER vs. MASON WALLS vs. JOSEPH KEYS
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH

After a brief face-off in the center of the ring, Cheeseburger called for a test of strength. The three-way test of strength showed no clear winner before Joseph Keys broke it up. Quickly, each man tried to German Suplex the other, each competitor switching places rapidly to get in the very back of a three man chain. Keys broke this up with a clothesline to Walls and Cheeseburger. However, when Keys charged, the other two pulled down the top rope, sending Keys crashing to ringside.
Cheeseburger and Mason Walls faced off until Keys returned and clotheslined both of them. When Walls rolled to the outside, Cheeseburger hit a basement dropkick to Keys, then locked Joseph in a toe hold on the mat. Walls returned moments later, but found himself locked in an abdominal stretch by Cheeseburger, who still had not released Keys from the toe hold.
Walls escaped first and Cheeseburger rolled to the apron. Keys lifted Walls up for a Fireman’s Carry shoulder breaker, then knocked Cheeseburger off of the apron completely. Keys dropped a knee on Mason Walls, then DDTed Cheeseburger through the ropes as the latter tried to re-enter the ring.
With Cheeseburger neutralized once more, Keys hit a belly to belly suplex on Mason Walls and climbed to the top rope. At the top, Keys decided better of it, flipped off the fans, and climbed back down to the mat. Keys grabbed a rear chin lock on the mat for a while, then lifted Walls back up into a fireman’s carry. This time, though, Walls reversed into a DDT.
At that moment, Cheeseburger returned and, with Keys and Walls in opposite corners, went coast-to-coast with alternating forearms strikes to Keys and Walls. Cheeseburger got a near fall on Keys after a superkick, then hit a Saito suplex to Mason Walls. Keys regrouped and hit a gut wrench suplex on Cheeseburger, then turned his attention back to Mason Walls.
Keys attempted Keys to Victory, but Walls blocked it. Keys went for a lariat, but Walls ducked. Keys lifted Walls into position for a crucifix bomb as Cheeseburger returned. Keys locked Cheesburger in a front facelock and, from there, hit the DDT to Cheeseburger and the crucifix bomb to Walls at the same time.
Keys looked for the crucifix bomb again, this time on Cheeseburger, but Cheeseburger escaped. Walls followed with an ensiguri to Keys that sent Keys outside the ring, as Walls and Cheeseburger exchanged blows inside. Cheeseburger went for a sunset flip off of an Irish Whip, then Walls reversed into a pin attempt of his own. Back and forth, Walls and Cheeseburger traded pinfall attempts in sunset flip position until Walls released and hit an ensiguri on Cheeseburger.
Cheeseburger whipped Walls into the ropes and leveled him with hard strike. Before he could capitalize, though, Cheeseburger was hurled out of the ring by Joseph Keys who immediately covered Walls and picked up the win for himself.
WINNER: JOSEPH KEYS
MATCH #2
MR. GRIM vs. SEXY STEVE

Early on, Sexy Steve really struggled trying to find a way to overcome the power of Mr. Grim. Steve looked to the fans for some support after Grim leveled him with a shoulder block. Steve managed to hit a dropkick, then pulled down the ropes when an infuriated Grim charged, sending Mr. Grim to the outside.
Sexy Steve went for a slingshot plancha, but Mr. Grim caught Steve in mid-air and drove him, back first, into the ring post. Grim slung Sexy Steve back into the ring, then tied Steve in the ropes until the referee forced a break. Grim hit a body slam for a near fall, but it was Sexy Steve who made it to his feet first.
Steve hit a superkick and came off the ropes. Mr. Grim tried for a side slam, but Steve reversed it into a hurricanarana. Steve leapt to the second rope and stunned Mr. Grim with a leaping side kick. However, Grim thwarted Steve’s rally with two German Suplexes and a series of kidney punches on the mat. Back in control, Grim tossed Sexy Steve across the ring from one corner and hit a splash to Steve in another.
Grim tossed Steve across the ring once more and went for another splash. This time, though, Steve moved and hit a neck breaker. After a near fall, Steve climbed to the top and hit a frog splash. Steve made the cover and it looked like Grim may have kicked out at two. However, the referee affirmed that he had counted three and awarded the controversial victory to Sexy Steve.
WINNER: SEXY STEVE
MATCH #3
THE HYPE vs. G-FED & RONNIE ZUKKO (c)
PAY YOUR DUES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Khaz Lee started this match hot for The Hype, hitting a hip toss and arm drag in quick succession, then whipping G-Fed into the ropes. The veteran G-Fed managed to hold onto the ropes to avoid a dropkick from Lee, then dropped Khaz with a lariat out of the corner.
G-Fed tagged Ronnie Zukko to assist with a double clothesline, but Lee ducked and hit them both with a dropkick and tagged Myron Malone. Malone hit a reverse atomic drop as Lee returned with a modified bulldog for a near fall. Lee whipped Ronnie Zukko into the ropes, but was reversed.
As Lee hit the ropes, G-Fed attacked from the apron. Lee turned to confront G-Fed and Ronnie Zukko snuck up and attacked from behind. G-Fed returned officially and choked Lee on the mat until the referee forced a break, then hit an elbow drop for a near fall.
G-Fed went back to the rope choke until the referee again forced a break. This time, however, G-Fed distracted the referee so Ronnie Zukko could choke Lee some more behind the referee’s back. Zukko tagged back in and hit a suplex. Lee tried to fight back, but Zukko used an eye poke to subdue Lee and maintain control.
When Zukko tagged back out, G-Fed thwarted another Lee rally attempt with two short arm clotheslines and a snap powerslam for a near fall. Zukko returned with a super kick as G-Fed held Lee in place. Malone ran in to break up the pin attempt, and Lee stunned Zukko with a back elbow off the ropes. G-Fed tried to run in, but Lee quickly tossed him through the ropes and out to the floor and made the tag to Malone.
Myron Malone was on fire upon his return. Myron dropped Ronnie Zukko with a chest strike, dove through the ropes with a tope suicida to G-Fed, then slid back into the ring and hit a spinebuster on Ronnie Zukko for a near fall. Zukko slumped into one corner and Malone charged, but Zukko moved and grabbed a steel chair.
With the referee’s attention diverted, Zukko tossed the chair to Malone and fell to the mat attempting to pull the old Eddie Guerrero trick and cause a disqualification. Crazy thing is, it worked. The referee turned around and immediately called for the bell and the disqualification.
However, as the champions celebrated, Commissioner Tano came down to ringside, having watched the events unfold from backstage. Commissioner Tano announced that the match could not end that way and would have to be restarted. Unfortunately for The Hype, the bell rang and, in the chaos, Ronnie Zukko rolled Myron Malone up for the one, two, three.
WINNERS: RONNIE ZUKKO & G-FED
MATCH #4
SEXY & BLESSED vs. THE 2s

Ykies and Adonis Valerio started this match for their respective teams and put on a display of some nice chain wrestling as both men tried to gain the advantage. Ykies struck first using his partner, Chulo Montana, for a cazadora splash onto Valerio, that sent Adonis to the corner to tag out.
Ykies and Montana used a double forward roll into a double sidekick combo to stun Bonetti. Frank Bonetti argued with the referee to cause a distraction and Adonis Valerio attacked Ykies from behind. Bonetti capitalized with a ankle lock on the mat, and continued to work the leg with an elbow drop onto the lower appendage.
Now starting to take control, The 2s tried to cut off the ring to keep Ykies from reaching his partner, Chulo Montana. Using quick tags in and out, Valerio hit an elbow drop for a near fall, then Bonetti returned and tied Ykies leg in the ropes. Bonetti dropped a knee on Ykies’ leg for a near fall, then thwarted a Ykies rally by slamming him down to the mat by his hair.
The 2s continued to make quick tags and work the leg of Ykies, with Bonetti holding a single leg crab on the mat for an extended period. Finally, Ykies escaped the hold and slumped into one corner. Bonetti charged, but Ykies got a boot up, then followed with an ensiguri that gave him the opportunity to make the tag.
Montana re-entered and unleashed the fury on both members of The 2s, leveling both Bonetti and Valerio with strikes until they each slumped into opposite corners. From there, Montana went coast-to-coast with running elbows to both Bonetti and Valerio, then hit a Codebreaker to Adonis Valerio for a near fall.
Moments later, Montana evaded a charging Valerio, then hit a dropkick and tagged his partner. Ykies held Valerio in place while Montana came off the ropes with a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Montana hit a super kick to Valerio, but took his eyes off of Bonetti. Frank ran across the ring, knocked Ykies off of the apron, then lifted Montana up for an airplane spin as Valerio came off the ropes with a twisting neck breaker to put away Sexy and Blessed.
WINNERS: THE 2s
MATCH #5
BIG DADDY ADRI (c) vs. ZOEY SKYE
NON-TITLE MATCH

Zoey Skye appeared to have no intention of actually battling Pay Your Dues Women’s Champion Big Daddy Adri in this non-title match. When Skye finally did lockup, Big Daddy Adri shoved Skye into the corner with virtually no effort at all. When they locked up again, Skye tried for a German Suplex, but Adri simply put it in reverse and backed Skye into the corner.
Off of yet another lockup, Skye struck first with a boot to the stomach. However, when Zoey came off the ropes, Big Daddy dropped her with a shoulder block and watched Skye scurry out of the ring. Skye was nearly counted out after refusing, once again, to get back in the ring. Eventually, Big Daddy Adri got antsy and approached the edge of the ring. However, this played right into Skye’s hands as the challenger snapped the champion’s neck across the middle rope from the apron.
Skye found Adri in a corner and held a boot choke until the referee forced a break. Zoey turned to taunt the crowd, then hit a chop to the chest of the champion in each of the four corners of the ring. Skye went to the well once too often, though. The champion moved out of the way of the final chop and unloaded with several chops in rapid succession.
Naturally, Skye rolled outside the ring and refused to get back in, at one point rolling in and right back out to reset the referee’s count. When Zoey eventually returned, she offered a handshake in a show of good sportsmanship. Although every fan in attendance was screaming for Adri not to do it, the champion reached out to shake Skye’s hand. Of course, it was a ruse and Skye immediately attacked.
Zoey slapped the champion on the mat and followed with a basement forearm strike. Adri made it to her feet, as Skye charged, and lifted Zoey up for a front slam. Adri whipped Skye into one corner and hit a splash, then whipped Skye across the ring and hit another. Adri followed with a hip attack in the corner, somersaulted into the center of the ring, then charged right back and hit another hip attack.
Later, the champion caught Skye coming off the ropes and hit a spine buster, then held onto Zoey Skye’s leg to prevent Skye from fleeing again. Skye reached out and grabbed the championship belt and tried to ambush the champion, but Big Daddy Adri ducked. However, when Adri turned around, it looked as though Skye poked her in the eye (my view was blocked). Regardless of what it was, it kept Adri occupied long enough for Skye to roll her up, earn the pinfall, and get the heck out of there.
WINNER: ZOEY SKYE
MATCH #6
BIG A.C. & ZAKAR SHAH vs. KEN DIXON & ??????
(SPECIAL ENFORCER: HOSS HAGOOD)
TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT MATCH

After a very excited kid in front of me was announced to be the winner of the evening’s raffle, it was time for the main event. The question on everybody’s mind was, “Who will be Ken Dixon’s mystery partner?” It would not take long before we found out that Dixon had recruited none other than Dirty Money for this grudge match against Pay Your Dues Champion, Big A.C., and Zakar Shah.
Once the bell rang, it was Dixon taking control immediately. Dixon lifted Zakar Shah into a fireman’s carry and, although Shah managed to wriggle out of it, followed with two shoulder tackles and a front slam. From there, Dixon and Dirty Money started competing to see who could body slam Zakar Shah the best.
Dirty Money slammed Zakar Shah, then Dixon demanded to be tagged in and given a chance to one-up his partner. Back and forth they went, tagging in and out to slam Shah, until Dixon told Dirty Money to slam him onto Shah instead. After that garnered a near fall, and some laughter from the fans, Money hit two low kicks to the back of Zakar Shah and looked to come off the ropes with another maneuver.
However, Big A.C. distracted Dirty Money from the apron, giving Shah a chance to regroup and ambush Dirty Money. Shah locked Dirty in a rear chin lock on the mat, then dragged Dirty Money to his corner to tag out to Big A.C.. From there, Shah and A.C. cut off the ring and used quick tags to maintain their advantage and prevent Dirty Money from making the tag to Dixon.
Dirty Money eventually reversed Big A.C. with a chin breaker and leapt to tag Dixon. Dirty Money and Ken Dixon double teamed Big A.C., with Dixon whipping Dirty Money into A.C. in one corner, then Dirty Money looking to whip Dixon into Big A.C. in the opposite corner. The second time, though, Zakar pulled his partner out of the path of Dixon at the last second.
With the rally ended, Big A.C. slowed things down in the corner once again. A.C. body slammed Ken Dixon, then tagged Zakar Shah and whipped his partner into Dixon in the corner. Shah choked Dixon on the ropes and Big A.C. looked to assist his partner illegally. At that moment, however, special enforcer, Hoss Hagood, got involved and blocked A.C. from cheating.
With Hagood focused on Big A.C., Zakar Shah went right back to choking Ken Dixon on the ropes anyway. Shah then whipped Dixon into his corner and tagged Big A.C. who hit a leg drop for a near fall. Dixon continued to fight back and almost made the tag at one point before A.C. grabbed a hold of Dixon and locked in a bear hug in the center of the ring.
Dixon eventually escaped the hold, but was still prevented from making the tag by Big A.C.. Zakar Shah returned and grabbed an arm bar on the mat, then whipped Dixon into the ropes. Dixon surprised Shah with a sunset flip for a near fall, but was subdued moments later with a basement lariat and ended up trapped in a rear chin lock on the mat.
Shah later converted the rear chin lock into a Camel Clutch momentarily, but never got it locked in all the way. Dixon stood up, with Shah on his back, and fell backwards into one corner, then looked to whip Shah across the ring to another. Shah reversed and sent Dixon into the corner where referee Justin Rodgers was positioned, nearly causing a collision between the two.
Luckily, Dixon put on the brakes just before colliding with the referee, but Zakar Shah followed right behind and splashed both of them into the turnbuckles. With the referee knocked out, Shah retrieved his partner’s championship belt and looked to use it as a weapon. Thankfully, Hoss Hagood saw Shah get the belt and took it away before Shah could attack.
Shah turned around into a snap powerslam from Ken Dixon as Hoss Hagood put the belt away and revived the referee. Dixon made the tag to Dirty Money who quickly hit Shah with a palm strike, savate kick, boot to the midsection, and leaping neck breaker. Dirty Money hit a spine buster and went for the pin, but Big A.C. ran in at the last second to break it up.
Before leaving the ring, Big A.C. knocked Ken Dixon off of the apron, then dragged Zakar Shah to his own corner to facilitate an actual tag. Now legally back in the match, Big A.C. hit a choke slam on Dirty Money and started to climb to the second rope. At that moment, Ken Dixon returned and knocked A.C. off of his perch as Dirty Money regrouped. Dixon and Dirty lifted Big A.C. up for a double power bomb to pick up the win and send the fans home happy.
WINNERS: KEN DIXON & DIRTY MONEY
