PROMO
The episode began with ERA surprisingly announcing his retirement, or at least his exit from Coastal Championship Wrestling. In the ring, with his arm in a sling, ERA said that his two little girls at home deserve to see their dad and thanked the fans. Ricky Martinez ran in with Domino to support an emotional ERA.
However, just as the three men looked to head back to the dressing room, ERA hit Domino with a super kick that stunned the fans and, seemingly, Ricky Martinez. Seconds later, though, as Martinez appeared furious with ERA’s betrayal, Ricky turned and super kicked Domino, as well. ERA and Martinez double-teamed Domino with a steel chair and a gold chain until officials ran in to stop the carnage.
MATCH #1
JACKAL STEVENS (c) vs. Q.T. MARSHALL
CCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
The big championship grudge match we had all been waiting for started slowly as the two competitors felt each other out. Marshall hit a shoulder block, then Stevens hit an arm drag, a kidney kick, and another arm drag. Marshall jumped up and slapped the champion in the face, leading Jackal Stevens to pounce with a Thesz Press and rain shots down on Marshall’s face.
Stevens hit a spear in one corner, then Marshall countered with one in the opposite corner. Stevens returned fire with two shoulders, a snap mare and kick to the back of the head, and a running basement clothesline for a near fall. Marshall rolled to the apron for safety, but Stevens immediately jumped up to the second rope for a flying clothesline that sent Marshall crashing to the floor.
Stevens hit a springboard plancha out onto the floor, threw Marshall back into the ring, and hit a springboard senton for a near fall. Stevens would get another near fall off of a rolling neck breaker, then locked Marshall in a rear chin lock on the mat. Eventually, Marshall escaped and turned the tide in his favor with a springboard ensiguri off of an Irish Whip.
Stevens rolled to the outside and Marshall followed. Q.T. threw the champion into the steel steps at ringside before throwing Stevens back into the ring. Marshall lifted Stevens onto the top turnbuckle and climbed up to the top rope, but Stevens knocked him back down to the mat. Marshall hit an ensiguri from the mat, climbed up again, and superplexed Stevens succesfully, leaving both men down.
At this point, Alex Chamberlain, feeling as though he had been cheated out of this title shot, ran into the ring and stared at both competitors. Suddenly, Alex hit a lariat on the referee, then hit lariats on Stevens and Marshall. Chamberlain went out to ringside to retrieve the championship belt, returned to the ring, and held it high in the air to declare himself the rightful champion.
When the referees finally corralled Alex Chamberlain and escorted him to the back, Stevens rolled on top of Marshall for a pinfall. With the original referee out of commission, referee Amy Veronica ran back in to make the count, but was too late. When referee Amy went to check on the knocked out official, Marshall hit Stevens with the championship belt and went for the cover.
Again, the referee distraction gave Stevens enough time to recover and kick out at two. From there, Marshall and Stevens rose to their knees exchanging forearm shots, then onto their feet. Marshall whipped Stevens into the ropes, but was reversed with a springboard back kick, followed by a tilt-a-whirl back breaker.
Somehow, Marshall kicked out at two, then escaped an Olympic Slam from Stevens and hit a DDT. Marshall signaled for the cutter, but Stevens blocked it. Stevens charged at Marshall in one corner, but was lifted up and over to the apron. Stevens climbed to the top for a quick Blockbuster, but Marshall saw it coming and stepped to the side.
The challenger managed to connect with a pop-up upper cut, but Stevens countered with a Canadian Destroyer, then hit the Olympic Slam. When that garnered another two count, Stevens locked Marshall in a cross-face in the center of the ring. Marshall escaped briefly, but Stevens locked him right back in. The second time, Marshall got one foot on the ropes to force a break.
Off of the reset, Stevens hit a savate kick and went for a leg lariat. Marshall blocked and reversed into a sit-out powerbomb. Marshall removed hit elbow pad to signify the discus lariat, but Stevens saw it coming, hit another savate kick and sprung up to the top rope. However, as Stevens leapt into the air, Marshall caught him in a cutter out of nowhere.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: Q.T. MARSHALL
