Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 181 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 37 from Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on February 3, 2024. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
THE QROWN (c) vs. PRETTY SMOOTH
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
As the episode got under way, ring announcer Lissy Almeida let everyone in the locker room know that the CCW Tag Team Champions, The Qrown, were issuing an open challenge. Moments later, the music of Pretty Smooth, Pretty Rich Wise, and the Smooth Operator, Mike Gallagher, echoed throughout the venue.
Gallagher grabbed the microphone and offered to explain the situation to Leonis and Maximus slowly since they are “short in the brain department.” Gallagher gave the tag champs the opportunity to walk away and simply surrender the tag belts to Pretty Smooth to avoid any embarrassment
Surprising no one, The Qrown decided against the idea and immediately separated Wise and Gallagher in opposite corners. A spear from Leonis sent Mike Gallagher to the outside. Leonis turned his attention to Wise and went for a splash in the corner. Leonis missed, but Maximus, following right behind with a spear, did not.
After the easy victory, the South American Alliance ran in to confront the tag champs. Ariel Levy congratulated The Qrown on 400 days as tag team champions, but reminded them that the last team to hold those titles that long was the South American Alliance. Levy said Leonis and Maximus are stronger and faster, but they have heart and will win the titles once again.
WINNERS: THE QROWN
MATCH #2
A.J. FRANCI$ (c) vs. CHA CHA CHARLIE
HIALEAH STREET FIGHT
Following a controversial win over Cha Cha Charlie on CCW Alive Episode 177, A.J. Franci$ agreed to this Hialeah Street Fight rematch at Bash at the Brew 37. Still seething after his loss to the former Top Dolla, Cha Cha Charlie attacked Franci$ on the apron before the bell rang. When A.J. fell to the floor, Charlie hit a tope suicida and flung A.J. into the steel ring steps.
As Franci$ laid across those steps, Cha Cha grabbed another set of steps to drop on A.J.’s head. Franci$ moved, but Cha Cha would not relent. Charlie hit a shotgun dropkick, then grabbed a box of Cheez-Its from the crowd and smashed it on A.J.’s head. Charlie grabbed a steel chair from under the ring, but Franci$ kicked it out of his hands.
Undeterred, Charlie picked the chair up and smashed A.J. on the back. Franci$ grabbed a keg from the entrance ramp and nailed Charlie with it, then threw Cha Cha back into the ring and brought the steel chair and a second keg with him. Franci$ hit Charlie with the keg, then ripped Charlie’s shirt off and blew his nose with it.
Franci$ slammed Cha Cha on the keg, then set Charlie up in the corner with a steel chair in front of his face for a running knee strike, the momentum from which sent A.J. over the top rope to the floor. Franci$ went through the curtain to the back and returned with a trash can full of weapons.
Franci$ re-entered the ring, smashed Charlie in the back with a steel chair, then sat down in the chair. Charlie slowly crawled over to A.J. and slapped him in the face, causing Franci$ to lift Charlie up in choke slam. Charlie escaped, but Franci$ connected with a big boot to the face to maintain control. Franci$ tried to lawn dart Charlie into a steel chair wedged between the ropes, but Charlie escaped and shoved A.J. into that corner.
Feeling the tide turn, Charlie continued with a series of punches, a drop kick and a sling blade, then grabbed another steel chair from ringside. Charlie laid A.J.’s head on the chair and connected with a stomp that really should have been lights out for Top Dolla. Somehow, A.J. managed to force a rope break that seemed questionable for a street fight, but got him out of trouble anyway, when he grabbed the bottom rope at the count of two.
Cha Cha grabbed the trash can and laid A.J.’s head across it, then climbed to the top. This time, A.J. evaded, using the trash can to knock Charlie out of mid-air, then put the trash can over Charlie’s head and smashed it with a steel chair. Franci$ went back outside and set up a door across a chair and the guardrail, then tried to suplex Charlie through the makeshift table. Charlie escaped and nearly reversed with a suplex of his own.
Franci$ used a low blow kick to avoid Charlie’s suplex, then grabbed another keg and another door. Francis erected a second makeshift table inside the ring with these items and laid Charlie across it. Franci$ climbed up to the second rope, but Charlie also jumped up and tried to power bomb Franci$. A.J. blocked the move, but Charlie rebounded with an ensiguri to set up a top rope super rana that sent Franci$ crashing through the door.
As the fans chanted “C-C-Dub, C-C-Dub,” Charlie crawled over to make the cover, but was too late to get the victory. When Franci$ kicked out, Cha Cha climbed to the top rope and grabbed his hat, signaling the Mangu Splash. At that moment, an unidentified person ran in and pushed Charlie off the top rope down to the floor.
The person threw Charlie back into the ring and Franci$ destroyed Charlie with a choke slam onto the door to get the victory. Franci$ and his associate, later determined to be his former Miami Dolphins teammate, Brent Grimes, grabbed the kegs and pummeled Cha Cha Charlie until The Qrown ran in to make the save. Clearly, this war is not over…
WINNER: A.J. FRANCI$
