Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 187 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Secret Treasure from the MIDFLORIDA Events Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 23, 2024. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
ABBAD vs. ARIEL LEVY
After a series of lockups and resets, Ariel Levy angered Abbad with a paintbrush and Abbad charged. Levy ducked and drop kicked Abbad out of the ring. Ariel Levy went for a tope suicida but got caught in mid-air. Abbad proceeded to pummel Levy around ringside until he lost his focus and went after Bill Alfonso.
Levy went on the attack, but Abbad quickly regained control with an eye poke, then threw Ariel Levy back into the ring. Abbad slowed things down for several minutes with Levy seemingly having no answer. At one point, Levy seemed poised to rally when he repelled a charging Abbad with a boot to the face and leapt to the top rope. Although Abbad caught Levy in a chokeslam as Levy flew off the top rope, Ariel escaped. However, when Levy came off the ropes, Abbad reversed into a DDT for another near fall.
Abbad went back on the attack, but Ariel hulked up . When Abbad missed a punch Levy countered with a snap basement dropkick and a running knee to the face. Abbad powdered, but Levy was right behind with a tope, then another. Levy threw Abbad back into the ring, climbed back to the top, and hit a flying elbow drop that nearly ended the match.
Levy climbed to the second rope, but Abbad charged right behind. Levy jumped over Abbad, but turned back around into a Black Hole Slam. Levy slumped into one corner, Abbad charged, and Levy, once again, got a boot up in Abbad’s face. Ariel followed with a Tornado DDT and was stunned when Abbad kicked out. Levy went for the Codebreaker, but Abbad blocked and went for a chokeslam. Levy escaped the chokeslam, hit the Codebreaker, and made the cover for the win.
WINNER: ARIEL LEVY
MATCH #2
BLAKE BANKS vs. CHA CHA CHARLIE
Cha Cha Charlie had the hot hand early after an arm drag and a dropkick propelled Blake Banks into the corner, and a splash followed by a spinebuster nearly ended the match. Surprisingly, the “Trust Fund Kid,” Blake Banks, turned the tide quickly after escaping a full nelson slam and retreating to the apron.
Charlie approached Banks on the apron, but was suddenly hit with an Eat Defeat. Banks re-entered the ring with a somersault STO that garnered a two count. Cha Cha Charlie made it to his feet but seemed unstable as Banks hit a series of shots in the center of the ring. Banks used a knee strike to set up a reverse neck breaker for yet another near fall.
Blake Banks lifted Charlie up onto the top turnbuckle and climbed up for a superplex. Charlie knocked Banks down to the mat and looked for the Mangu splash. Banks hit the ropes to knock Charlie down, lifted Cha Cha into a fireman’s carry and hit an ushi garoshi for a near fall.
Banks grabbed a rear chin lock, but Charlie escaped and hit a spinning Saito Suplex that left both men down. Charlie was up first and the rally was on. Back-to-back clotheslines, back body drop, rolling blockbuster, and an elbow drop led to a near fall, then a top rope battle resulted in both man crashing to the mat simultaneously. Again, Charlie was up first, hitting a rolling senton and a moonsault. However, Banks quickly responded with a knee strike, savate kick, and a springboard kick.
As the pace began to quicken, Banks missed a second springboard kick and Charlie countered with a German suplex, then a rolling German suplex. Charlie went for running knee strike, but missed. Banks countered with a double underhook DDT, but Charlie kicked out at two.
Frustrated, Banks went out to ringside and retrieved a steel chair. J.C. Wilfork, who accompanied Cha Cha Charlie to the ring, became angry and confronted Banks at ringside. Banks slapped Wilfork and went back into the ring with the chair. As Banks swung the chair in Charlie’s direction, Wilfork climbed onto the apron and yanked it out of his hands. When Banks turned around to confront Wilfork, Charlie rolled Banks up from behind for the win.
After the match, Banks took the microphone and said that he would have won the match if it were not for “King Wannabe here,” referring to Wilfork. Banks then took Cha Cha Charlie’s hat and slapped both Charlie and Wilfork. Wilfork responded with a chokeslam and Charlie hit the Mangu Splash as the episode came to a close.
WINNER: CHA CHA CHARLIE
