TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 189

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 189 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 39 from Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on April 13, 2024. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
INVIDIA vs. KACI LENNOX

Kaci Lennox gained the upper hand early after an arm drag led to a spinning side slam and a near fall. At that point, Veritas jumped up on the apron to distract Lennox, which allowed Invidia to attack from behind. In the corner, Invidia used her knee to choke Kaci, then hit a hair mare and a basement drop kick for a near fall.

Invidia choked Lennox again, this time in the center of the ring, slammed Kaci’s face into the mat, then choked her with the middle rope. Lennox eventually slumped into one corner. Invidia charged for a splash but missed, then both women clotheslined each other simultaneously, leaving everyone down on the mat.

Lennox was up first with a clothesline, double knees to the chest of Invidia, and a bulldog for a near fall. When Lennox missed a boot strike, Invidia hit a flurry of kicks, ending in a roundhouse. At that moment, Atrox and Entity appeared from the back. Veritas went to confront them and got thrown into the ring post. In the chaos, Invidia tried another attack. However, Kaci caught her coming off the ropes in mid-air in a bear hug, then converted it into a modified facebuster to pick up the victory.

WINNER: KACI LENNOX

MATCH #2
THE QROWN & METO vs. SOUTH AMERICAN ALLIANCE
SIX MAN TAG MATCH

Meto and Vinicious started off this big six-man tag match with an exchange of overhand chops until Meto hit a quick spinebuster on the big man and went for a spear. Vinicious blocked the spear and countered with a Black Hole Slam, then tagged Ariel Levy.

Levy entered with a springboard leg drop into the ring and quickly tagged out to Alan ‘S2S’ Martinez. Levy and Martinez teamed up for an assisted meteora, a flying forearm by Martinez, and a second Meteora from Levy. Martinez hit a basement drop kick and a leg drop for a near fall, then Levy returned for a double hip toss and simultaneous front and back kicks to Meto.

After another near fall, Meto lured Levy near the ropes, then snapped Ariel’s neck on them and hit a discus clothesline. Finally, Meto tagged out to Leonis Khan who assisted with a double shoulder tackle to Levy. From there, Leonis Khan slowed things down and dominated Levy. Ariel looked to start a rally, but Leonis Khan caught him in mid-air on a cross body and reversed into a fall away slam.

Leonis brought in Maximus Khan for a punch, boot, double discus forearm combination that seemed certain to end the match. When Levy kicked out at two, The Qrown lifted him into a double vertical suplex. Levy withstood that suplex, then ducked a punch and propelled Maximus into Leonis on the apron.

Levy tagged in Alan Martinez, Meto ran in, and eventually all six men were in the ring for a huge brawl that spread throughout the venue. The referee called for a no contest as wrestlers, referees, and CCW officials poured out from the locker room to try to restore order.

RESULT: NO CONTEST
