TV Review – CCW Alive Episode 192

Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 192 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at CCW Anniversary 20 from the MidFlorida Event Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on April 19, 2024. Here is what happened:

MATCH #1
SOUTH AMERICAN ALLIANCE vs. THE QROWN (c)
CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP NO DQ MATCH

After the donnybrook that ended the six-man tag match at Bash 39, the South American Alliance was primed for this shot to regain the CCW Tag Team Titles from The Qrown. As soon as the bell rang, all four men went right at each other and the action quickly spilled outside.

On the outside, the weapons came out and the two teams broke off into brawling pairs. Levy would return to the ring first to attempt a tope suicida, but Leonis Khan blocked him with a trash can shot to the head as he came through the ropes. With Levy now busted open, The Qrown turned their attention to Vinicious with a pair of steel chairs.

Vinicious rolled out of the ring, leaving Levy to be double teamed again. It seemed as though the match would end early after a double choke slam, but somehow, Levy kicked out at two. At that point, Maximus called for a table and Leonis helped him set one up in the center of the ring. Fonzie tried to stop the massacre by running in and throwing a trash can at the champions, but that had no effect.

Fortunately for Levy, Vinicious was right behind Fonzie with a steel chair. The Qrown turned to deal with Vinicious, but Leonis quickly ended up on Vinicious’ shoulders. Maximus speared Vinicious, which freed Leonis to go after Levy. At that point, Meto ran in and speared Fonzie, which brought Alan ‘S2S’ Martinez out from the back to neutralize Meto.

As Meto and Martinez battled to the back, The Qrown regrouped and set up a second table on the outside of the ring. Leonis and Maximus teamed up to try to suplex Vinicious through the table from the apron, but Levy ran in with a kendo stick and broke it up.

Levy continued with the kendo stick shots until the champs were somewhat subdued, then laid Leonis across the table in the ring. Levy climbed to the top rope, but Leonis jumped up and joined Levy on the top rope. Leonis went for a superplex, but Levy slipped out with a sunset flip and went for a power bomb. Vinicious came over and assisted Levy’s power bomb, but the table did not break.

With the table still intact, Levy and Vinicious utilized it again, and this time it broke after a double spine buster to Leonis Khan. Vinicious made the cover, but could not get the three count. Vinicious stood up as Maximus tried to spear Ariel Levy. However, Levy moved at the last second, and Maximus speared Vinicious completely out of the ring.

Leonis then made an attempt to spear Levy, but Levy blocked and converted into a codebreaker. Rather than go for the pin, Levy climbed back to the top rope, presumably to put Leonis away with the flying elbow drop. Unfortunately, as Levy flew through the air, Maximus destroyed him with a spear.

WINNERS: THE QROWN

MATCH #2
CHA CHA CHARLIE vs. STALLION ROGERS

Cha Cha Charlie and Stallion Rogers came face to face in the center of the ring before this match got underway. Cha Cha turned to dance for the fans as the bell rang, and Stallion Rogers made him pay for it. Rogers whipped Charlie hard into the corner, then held a boot choke until the referee forced a break. Unphased, Rogers continued his methodical domination around the ring, at one point using a Garvin Stomp to set up a double chest stomp for a near fall.

Charlie tried, several times, to mount a comeback, but Rogers quickly regained control each time. Eventually, though, Charlie would grab a full nelson and convert it into a German suplex, leaving both men down on the mat. Charlie made it to his feet first, and the rally was in full swing.

Cha Cha hit two sling blades, a Saito suplex, a rolling neck breaker and a Cha Cha elbow for a near fall, then climbed to the top rope. Rogers made it to his feet and side stepped Charlie’s flying cross body. Rogers followed with a discus forearm, Yakuza kick, basement drop kick in the corner, and a DDT.

When that garnered just a two count, Rogers grabbed Charlie’s hat, put it on his head, climbed to the top rope, and hit his version of the Mangu Splash. After yet another near fall, the fans started rallying Charlie with chants of “Cha Cha! Cha Cha!” Rogers went outside to grab a chair, but the referee took it away before he could use it on Charlie.

Rogers turned to verbally assault the referee in the corner. However, all the referee did was wave bye-bye as Charlie snuck up behind Rogers and hit him with a backstabber. Charlie followed that with a brainbuster, then looked to the crowd, grabbed his hat, and climbed up for the Mangu Splash. Before he could hit it, Rogers threw the steel chair at Charlie from the mat, resulting in a disqualification.

Although the match was over, Rogers unleashed a violent attack on Cha Cha Charlie and refused to relent. Referees and CCW officials rushed in to help as Rogers hit a pump handle pile driver to Charlie and grabbed the microphone. Rogers warned Charlie that, from here on out, he would be Cha Cha’s shadow because this war is not over. Rogers turned to the crowd and dared fans to come fight him, then attacked Charlie once more before vacating the ring.

WINNER BY DQ: CHA CHA CHARLIE
