Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 194 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s match was pre-taped at CCW Anniversary 20 from the MidFlorida Event Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida on April 19, 2024. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
BRIAN CAGE vs. Q.T. MARSHALL (c)
CCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
After Cage gained the upper hand from a test of strength, he threw Q.T. Marshall over the top rope. Marshall skinned the cat, then threw Cage over the top rope and mocked Cage’s pre-match pose. Cage returned and picked Marshall up in a fireman’s carry. Marshall escaped, came off the ropes with a hurricanarana, then dropkicked Cage out of the ring again.
Marshall sprung over the top rope to the apron, but Cage caught his running boot, lifted him into the air, and threw him into the ring post. Cage dropped Marshall on the apron, flung him into the guardrail, then tossed Q.T. back into the ring. Cage dominated Marshall with stomps a boot choke in the corner, then whipped him into the corner so hard Marshall flipped upside down.
Cage maintained control, and thwarted multiple comeback attempts by the champion, for a while. However, when Cage used Marshall for bicep curls and threw him backwards over his head with little effort, Marshall had had enough and started to hulk up. Cage hit chops with no effect on Marshall, then hit an upper cut that dropped the champion.
Marshall jumped right back up with a flurry of jabs, then connected with the handspring ensiguri and called for the cutter. Cage blocked and charged Marshall in the corner, but Marshall blocked with a back kick and jumped to the second rope for a Tornado DDT.
After a near fall, Marshall lifted Cage up for a powerbomb, but Cage escaped and countered with a ripcord forearm. Cage lifted Marshall into a fireman’s carry and connected with a modified F5, then followed with running upper cut, ensiguri, and German suplex.
Marshall popped up immediately after the German suplex as if it had no effect. Cage charged, but Marshall reversed with an ensiguri and went for another Tornado DDT. This time, Cage blocked and countered with a German suplex. Marshall rolled to the apron and Cage climbed to the second rope to try to suplex the champion back inside.
Marshall snapped Cage’s arm on the top rope to block the suplex, then jumped up to the top rope for a missile dropkick. Marshall went for a piledriver, but Cage reversed into a sit-out Alabama Jam for yet another near fall. Cage lifted Marshall onto the top turnbuckle and climbed up with him, but Marshall used a sunset flip to get back down to the mat, then hit a sit-out powerbomb that brought the crowd to their feet.
Marshall went for a lariat from the corner, but Cage blocked it with a superkick. Cage followed with a discus clothesline, then locked Marshall in a front face lock. The champion used a small package to escape and went for the cutter. Cage blocked temporarily, but Marshall hit it seconds later.
When that failed to end the match, Marshall and Cage exchanged shots on their knees, then on their feet. Marshall tried to come off the ropes, but Cage caught him with a forearm shot. Cage tried to come off of the ropes, but Marshall countered with a forearm of his own.
Marshall attempted the handspring ensiguri, but Cage caught him in a fireman’s carry. Before Cage could hit another F5, Marshall wriggled out and nailed Cage with a superkick. Marshall followed with an ensiguri and climbed to the second rope. However, Cage caught Marshall in mid-air with a cutter, seemingly ending the match. Somehow, Marshall managed to kick out at two, so Cage went for the Drill Claw. In an instant, Marshall escaped, rolled Cage up, and got the one, two three.
WINNER: Q.T. MARSHALL
