Coastal Championship Wrestling “Alive” Episode 197 debuted Tuesday on YouTube. This episode’s matches were pre-taped at Bash at the Brew 41 from the Unbranded Brewing Company in Hialeah, Florida on June 1, 2024. Here is what happened:
MATCH #1
KELSEY REAGAN vs. KELSEY HEATHER
The Battle of the Kelseys went back and forth in the early stages, which led to multiple resets. Eventually, Kelsey Reagan went up and over on a corner whip, then pushed Heather into the corner. Heather rebounded with a head scissor takedown that sent Reagan to the outside.
Kelsey Heather followed right behind and a ringside brawl ensued. At one point, the Kelseys took turns trying to push one another into the ring post with the other hitting the brakes at the last second. Reagan would drop Heather face first on the apron before rolling her back into the ring.
Reagan took control at this point and hit a knee strike to the face, then slammed Heather’s face into the turnbuckle. From there, Reagan hit an upper cut, swept the leg, and hit a running boot from the opposite corner for a near fall. From there, Reagan continued with a boot choke in the corner and a series of chops to set up a modified Tarantula using a head scissors.
Heather would turn the tide when Reagan re-entered the ring and charged from the corner. Heather got an elbow up and followed with a boot, then somersaulted out of the corner, somersaulted to duck a clothesline from Reagan, and hit a front walkover splash. After that, a snap mare into a neck breaker set up a standing moonsault that nearly ended the match for Kelsey Reagan.
Heather lifted Reagan into a fireman’s carry, but Reagan escaped, lifted Heather into one of her own, and connected with a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Reagan lifted Heather back into the fireman’s carry, but Heather wriggled out and locked Reagan in a rear chin lock with bridge submission.
Reagan only escaped because she got one foot on the ropes, then slumped into one corner. Heather charged, but Reagan moved and slammed Heather’s head into the turnbuckle ten times. Suddenly, Heather countered with a tornado DDT that caused Reagan to roll to the apron. When Heather approached, Reagan snapped her neck on the top rope, re-entered the ring, and hit Blood Lust to pick up the victory.
WINNER: KELSEY REAGAN
MATCH #2
EDDIE VALENTINE vs. FULTON
Eddie Valentine, flanked by Joe Garcia, was exuding confidence as he entered the ring first. Fulton got distracted by Garcia during his entrance, which opened the door for Valentine to attack from behind. Moments later, though, Fulton reversed a corner whip and hit a back body drop that sent Valentine to the outside to regroup.
Fulton followed behind, but Eddie kept running all the way to the dressing room. Fulton headed in that direction, but Joe Garcia ran up behind Fulton and pulled his hair to cause a distraction. Fulton turned and unloaded with hard chops to Garcia, then ran a lap around the ring to get momentum for a boot to the face. Of course, that is when Valentine returned from the back and nailed Fulton as he came running around the corner.
Valentine returned to the ring and distracted the referee so Garcia could shove Fulton into the ring post before rolling him back inside. Valentine took control briefly, but Fulton would reverse a corner whip and hit a spear then followed with an ensiguri from the apron and climbed to the top rope.
Valentine had the presence of mind to use his head as a weapon against Fulton as he flew through the air, then capitalized by choking Fulton on the middle rope. Again the referee admonished Valentine. Again, Garcia used the distraction to attack Fulton. As the referee turned back around, Valentine locked Fulton in an abdominal stretch. Garcia positioned himself out of the view of the referee and tried to grab Valentine’s hand for extra leverage.
This worked twice, but, the third time the referee caught them and kicked Garcia’s hand. Now free of the stretch, Fulton hit a hip toss, then engaged in an exchange of strikes in the middle of the ring. Fulton would catch each of Valentine’s hands and counter with a series of rapid headbutts. Fulton whipped Valentine into the ropes and Garcia, thinking it was Fulton, reached out and tripped his own partner. By the time Garcia realized his mistake, Fulton had hit a choke slam and made the cover for the win.
WINNER: FULTON
