Victory Pro Wrestling “Riverfront Rumble 3” – 8/24/24

Victory Pro Wrestling made their show “Riverfront Rumble 3” from August 24, 2024 available to view on Youtube this week. Here’s what happened:

  • Shook Crew def. Delta House
    • Bryce Donovan and Bobby Orlando started so hot that they began taking move requests from the crowd. Delta House turned the tide when Robles reversed an Irish Whip and threw Bobby Orlando outside the ring, then distracted the referee so Dante Drago could get some shots in. They continued with the double team, including a double Five Knuckle Shuffle, until Bobby Orlando reversed a Drago suplex attempt and tagged out. Bryce Donovan came in hot, but was eventually overtaken by both members of Delta House. When Bobby Orlando returned to the ring, he immediately joined Donovan with dual superkicks. As Drago rolled out of the ring, Donovan and Orlando hit Robles with a double choke slam.
  • J.J. Doze def. Sebastian Amor
    • This fast-paced match went back and forth for a while at the outset. Eventually, J.J. Doze would miss a Bronco Buster in the corner and Sebastian Amor yanked him down to the mat by his hair. Amor cheated relentlessly to maintain his dominance from that point. Amor thwarted several rally attempts by Doze, but when he tried to use a rose as a weapon, Doze reversed with a back stabber to pick up the win.
  • Salem (c) def. Nat Castle & Scarlett Meidan (VPW Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match)
    • The match started with rotating one-on-one matchups until Scarlett Meidan and Nat Castle decided to work together against the champion. The strategy was successful until it was time for one of them to try to pin the Salem, which led to an argument. As Scarlett and Nat turned to battle each other again, Salem attacked. Salem tried to earn the victory with a submission hold on Nat Castle. When that failed, Salem stomped Meidan until she rolled out of the ring, then turned around and hit a running knee strike to Nat Castle.
  • Security, Inc. def. Shooter Boys
    • The Shooter Boys withstood an early flurry from Security, Inc., then took control by isolating Ronnie Moses in their corner, making quick tags, and occasionally distracting the referee to facilitate a double team. Moses finally used a straight jacket neck breaker to create enough space to make the tag. Malcolm Murray came in hot, but was soon double teamed by Vecchio and Ortiz. Moses ran in to break up a double suplex, sent Aaron Ortiz out of the ring, then teamed up with Moses for a cazadora/DDT combo move for the victory.
  • Dee Vibe def. Elijah Eden
    • Elijah Eden seemed content to play mind games with Dee Vibe as this match got underway. Vibe was confounded by Eden’s unconventional tactics throughout the match, which allowed Eden to maintain and regain control as needed for most of the contest. As the match wound down, though, Dee Vibe accidentally knocked the referee’s glasses off. With the referee’s vision impaired, Elijah Eden tried to pull an Eddie Guerrero with a steel chair. Eden threw the chair and fell back, but Vibe caught the chair and fell to the mat as well, leaving the referee confused about what had happened. As Eden tried to tell the referee his side of the story, Dee Vibe snuck over and rolled him up for the one, two, three.
  • Evil Kip Stevens def. Tommy Invincible
    • An early flurry from Tommy Invincible sent Kip outside to regroup. When Tommy approached the apron, Kip snapped his left arm on the top rope. Back inside the ring, Kip maintained control and slowed things down until Invincible escaped a wrist lock with a snap mare and got a rally going with a spine buster. A Five Knuckle Shuffle and a cutter should have ended the match for Tommy, but Kip rolled out of the ring to avoid being pinned. Invincible threw Kip back into the ring, but Kip kicked the middle rope as Invincible tried to re-enter, then hit him with a nasty curb stomp.
  • The Working Class (c) def. Jake Lang & Dr. Hilary P. Wisdom
    • Lang and Wisdom had to use underhanded tactics to stop the early dominance of Diego el Trabajador and Eddie the Sweeper. Wisdom grabbed his book to use as a weapon. The referee took it away, but Jake Lang used the distraction to choke Diego with his scarf. Lang and Wilson continued to cheat every time the referee’s back was turned to maintain control and prevent several near-tags by Diego. Finally, Diego used a double leg kick to Wisdom to tag out. Eddie the Sweeper took on Lang and Wisdom simultaneously, then tagged Diego. Wisdom tripped Diego as he tried to come off the ropes and, at the same time, Lang speared Eddie. However, Lang and Wisdom argued over who should make the pin and, as Lang stormed off, Diego and Eddie hit Dr. Wisdom with an assisted Death Valley Driver for the win.
  • Leo Sparrow (c) def. Allin Bayno (VPW Championship No Holds Barred Match)
    • The champion seemed disinterested in getting in the ring with Bayno, prompting chants of, “Leo Chicken!” When he did get into the ring, Sparrow withstood an early flurry, then dragged Bayno outside the ring and took control while taunting the fans. Sparrow used a scarf to choke the challenger inside the ring, then focused on the leg of Bayno. Sparrow was in full control until he missed a top rope moonsault that left both men down. Bayno was up first and started to rally with a series of headbutts and a Vader Bomb. When Bayno charged the corner, the champion pulled the referee into his path. With the referee knocked out, Bayno hit an STO but there was no one to make the count. Sparrow retrieved some spinach from the corner and threw it in the eyes of the challenger, then grabbed the championship belt and clocked Bayno with it. From there it was just a matter of waking up the official to count the pinfall.

Victory Pro Wrestling’s next event will be “Haunted Ground” which takes place on October 12, 2024 at Pro Game Athletics in Bayside, New York. Check VPW’s social media for more information.
