Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling aired Charged Episode 413 on September 24, 2024 on their Youtube channel. Here’s what happened:
PROMO – D’LO BROWN
The new law in RMPW, D’Lo Brown, came to the ring to kick off the show. Brown stated that David Drake has been a no-show, no-call champion lately. As such, Brown suspended David Drake and stripped him of the Rocky Mountain Pro Championship. As a result, there would be a tournament to crown a new champion, and that tournament would start immediately. The finals will be held at Shocktober on October 4.
Brown then introduced the owner of Rocky Mountain Pro, Mercury Yaden, and called him to the ring. Brown informed Yaden that he will be facing Remy D at Shocktober. Remy D came down to the ring and faced off with Yaden as Mercury protested that he was not in ring shape to face such an opponent.
Brown was non-plussed by this argument, and announced that he will be the special guest referee for the match. Remy D demanded that the match before for the title shot Yaden recently won. Yaden said he would do so, if Remy D put his career on the line. With the agreement, the match was made.
MATCH #1
MONT VITO vs MARTIN CASAUS
Early in this match, Vito lifted Martin Casaus into a fireman’s carry, but swung Martin’s legs around and hit the referee. Moments later, Vito accidentally splashed the referee, who had slumped into the corner. Casaus came off the ropes with a lateral press, but there was no referee to count the pinfall. At that moment, Vito and Casaus agreed to gently wake the referee together. Of course, as Casaus tried, Vito snuck behind him for a low blow.
Vito attempted a bear hug, but Casaus fought his way out. From there, Casaus used a drop toe hold to set up a curb stomp and the match was over. Immediately after the match ended, The Prosecutor ran down and attacked Casaus with a steel chair as the announcers continued to wonder the identity of the masked man.
WINNER: MARTIN CASAUS
MATCH #2
“THE BUFFALO” BROO vs JOHNNY CASANOVA
Broo simply dominated this match in the early stages. His much smaller opponent, Johnny Casanova, adopted the stick-and-move approach to combat Broo’s size. Casanova looked to get going when he started with low kicks to weaken the legs of the big man. However, Broo suddenly neutralized Casanova with a lariat that left both men down.
As Casanova tried to get back to his feet, Preston Skidmore slid a pair of brass knuckles into the ring. Casanova used them immediately and pinned Broo to move on to the second round. Unfortunately for Casanova, the referee found the knucks and demanded that the match be restarted. As soon as the bell rang, Broo speared Casanova to pick up the victory.
WINNER: “THE BUFFALO” BROO
MATCH #3
ZAMORE vs. ERIC REYES
In a similar dynamic to the previous match, the big, strong Zamore used his power to overcome Eric Reyes early, leading to a speed-based, quick strike offense from Reyes. Eric tried to make inroads with a flying knee strike from the top rope, but Zamore caught a Reyes boot and followed with a lariat. Zamore went for a Samoan drop, but Reyes escaped and chopped Zamore at the legs to take control of the match briefly.
Reyes neutralized Zamore for a while by keeping the big man on the mat locked in an arm bar. Zamore got to his feet and tried to rally, but Reyes hit a Russian Leg Sweep, then climbed to the top rope. As Reyes flew through the air, though, Zamore caught him in a fireman’s carry and converted to a Samoan Drop for the win.
WINNER: ZAMORE
MATCH #4
ATIBA vs. JOEY HENDRIX
After some early back and forth, Atiba tried to take control of the match with his vicious overhand chops. However, Hendrix use a throat strike to level the playing field, then taunted the fans with a little hip gyration. From there, Hendrix slowed things down on the mat. Atiba tried to get to his feet, but Hendrix yanked him back down by the hair.
Back on the mat, Hendrix used a body scissors to take the air out of Atiba’s lungs. However, Atiba finally made it to his feet, reversed a corner whip, and hit a series of chops, including a flying chop, then followed with a flapjack to suddenly end the night for Joey Hendrix.
WINNER: ATIBA
