880 Wrestling presented “Thursday Night Fights” on January 16, 2025 exclusively on the IndyWrestling.Us Youtube channel. Here’s what happened:
MATCH #1
M.V. YOUNG vs. AVALANCHE ADAMS
M.V. Young used his size and strength to dominate this match with the much smaller Avalanche Adams. Adams mounted a short rally, and hit a shotgun dropkick from the second rope for a near fall, then climbed to the top rope and hit a frog splash for another.
M.V. Young was up first with a spinebuster and a senton that nearly ended the match. Adams returned fire with a cutter out of nowhere that left both men down after a two count. Adams went back to the top rope for the frog splash but missed. M.V. Young jumped up and hit a spear, then followed with the Pittsburgh Plunge.
WINNER: M.V. YOUNG
MATCH #2
DEV SWAYZE vs. BROHEMOTH
Speaking of a size and strength mismatch, Dev Swayze looked to have no chance against the big and powerful Brohemoth. Swayze tried to use his height advantage early in the match and even danced over the fallen Brohemoth after a huge boot off of a whip.
Brohemoth would hulk up after an exchange of shots in the center of the ring, but Swayze responded with a dropkick and went for a springboard kick. However, Brohemoth caught the boot and hit an urunage to set up the running power slam.
WINNER: BROHEMOTH
MATCH #3
ALAO DREAMS & KEITH HAUGHT vs. BAMANA & EL LUCA
TAG TEAM MATCH
El Luca used some high-speed, high-flying offense early in this match against Alao Dreams. Then Bamana came in and had much less luck against Keith Haught as Haught used his size to dominate the man in the banana suit. The banana must have confused Haught because Haught tried to eat him at one point. Bamana and Luca used this loss of focus by Haught to turn the tide in their favor momentarily.
Alao Dreams started a rally shortly after having his legs split by Bamana. Dreams countered a charge with a spin kick, then tagged Haught back in. Haught hit a clothesline, then immediately called for the end. Haught hit a devastating splash on Bamana and the match was over just like that. After the match, Avalanche Adams and Dev Swayze attacked Haught until Chas D’Amato returned to make the save.
WINNERS: ALAO DREAMS & KEITH HAUGHT
MATCH #4
BUDDIES, INC. vs DEN OF DESIRE (c)
880 TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The champions were in sync as this match began, using solid teamwork to keep Clayton King and Some Guy Named John under wraps. After a cartwheel splash from Narcisso, though, Clayton King kicked Narcisso in the back from the apron, then John pounced to help Buddies, Inc. take control.
At the end, Den of Desire would rally after a stretch of dominance by Buddies, Inc. Blizzy made a hot tag to Marco Narcisso, who took on King and John by himself. Marco hit the Full package on John, then the Deathodil and Blizzy followed right behind with a 420 Frog Splash. From there, Blizzy and Marco made the double cover of Some Guy Named John to pick up the win.
WINNERS: DEN OF DESIRE
MATCH #5
TATIANA (c) vs. REESE HAYES
TNF CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The Unwilting Tatiana, whom we frequently cover here at Indy Wrestling Experience, won the TNF Championship just a couple of weeks ago and this match would be her second defense. Hayes took control after escaping a Fujiwara arm bar, then subdued Tatiana with a boot choke in the corner. Hayes maintained control from there, thwarting several attempts to rally by the champion.
Eventually, though, Hayes would miss on a Blockbuster and Tatiana followed with a Honky Tonk Man-style swinging neck breaker that would leave both competitors down. Tatiana was up first a couple of clotheslines and a DDT that garnered just a two count, then hit the Petal Plunge for another. Hayes would try to regain the momentum and lifted Tatiana into a fireman’s carry. However, Tatiana would reverse into a crucifix pin to pick up the sudden victory.
WINNER: TATIANA
